the adjustment collar on the device should allow for a focal stop. some set them for infinity, or just a hair beyond infinity. you are still going to need some manual adjustment on the other side of that though for up close.

To build on that (regarding PVS-14 lenses) , the close focus stop ring is what stops the objective lens from coming out of the housing. There is currently no product that exists that I'm aware of that allows for adjusting the close focus stop to a different position. Although in theory it could be possible with the use of shimms or something else that would sit inside the housing that interfaces with the existing close focus stop ring. Not recommending people mess with it, just saying that someone could theoretically invent something to address that issue.

Fortunately it's not super difficult to reach up and adjust focus as needed. As far as technique, I know some people who, if anticipating doing a lot of close-up work like map reading, will focus one lens on a bino for up close, and the other at infinity, and leave it like that as long as needed which eliminates the need for on the fly adjustments.

I do have one option I totally forgot about for monocular users. It falls under redneck engineering but it would work if you are really committed to the idea of having a close focus stop:

You can use a butler creek scope cap or LPVO throw lever and have them attached to the lens so that when you adjust the lens they will stop against the battery compartment, effectively giving you one close focus stop setting that you can adjust to your liking.
