Late night gun broker thing for "take a shot" for 3 x 1000 rd cases for a good price. The guy gave a great deal on the 13k shipped. Thought I had bolt available in the "storage unit from hell" Fired a bunch as a 12 year old with an Israeli modified 98k- my first real gun. I live on a small gated private lake and they are fucking with people about a bunch of shit, so I'm going to shoot into a backstop on my private land next to my lake lot. They took the.rules out about shooting several years ago. |

I have some DAG ammo (somewhere lost in moving boxes) that are marked as British L1A1 training ammo. Used for L1A1 rifles. If I recall correctly, it was NOT used with a training bolt and used by manually cycling the action. I have manually run it in a FAL, M14 clone. It wasn't accurate but not that bad - was handy to have in the dark days of ammo shortages. In the G3 clone its fun and no recoil to speak of - with an FRT its got to be good! |
Back in the day I made one for my Cetmes. I started with a Cetme BCG and removed the locking piece and rollers, made a fake LP from aluminum and pinned the bolt back against the carrier. If I was doing it today I'd just tack weld it but I wanted to be able to get the firing pin and spring out if there was a problem. Then I drilled and milled much metal off of it to get the weight close to the straight blowback training bolt. It looked like shit but worked fine. I probably still have 600 rounds of that stuff somewhere. The blue cases kind of get soft when things heat up.

Cetme BCG's are not interchangeable with HK. That's why I had to modify a Cetme carrier to shoot the blue stuff instead of buying an HK DAG bolt. My point was that you can modify an HK BCG by removing the rollers and pinning the bolt head back and removing excess weight. It's that or finding the proper BCG which sounds hard to find. |
