I’m 77 and I’m trying to downsize as I don’t want to burden my wife with all my stuff if I go before her. The first is a Smith & Wesson Model 17-4 I bought new in 1977. 8 3/8” barrel, target trigger, hammer and grips. New condition. The second one is another S&W Model 17 (no dash) made in 1957. 6” barrel, target trigger, hammer and grips. New condition. After some research I’m thinking $1,100 for the 6” model and $1,000 for the 8 3/8. What do you think? I still have 25-30 more guns to sell. Attached File Attached File |

Here's a completed auction search on Gunbroker for "Smith & Wesson Model 17" sorted by bid count high to low. Searching Gunbroker this way shows guns that sold. You must be logged into Gunbroker to see these results. https://www.gunbroker.com/guns-firearms/search/completed?keywords=smith%20%26%20wesson%20model%2017&pagesize=48&sort=9&view=1&timeframe=1 I see $782 on the low end and $950 on the high end. Could you consign them somewhere for $1000 to $1100? Sure but they may sit awhile. |

I hate it when that happens. |
