Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction as far as this goes. I am wanting to have a Marlin 1894 in 38/357 threaded so that I can use my suppressor on it. I know that Marlin offers models with threaded barrels already but I prefer the look of the classic series. Just looking for recommendations on who offers a barrel threading services for lever actions. Thanks in advance! |

Someone posted a link to this guy a while back https://countrycustommetals.com/services/ I was surprised to hear he's local to me. I have no idea if he's any good. He came up in a single shot thread I think and when I was looking I saw he listed lever gun services. |

Even the “custom” shops can be cookie-cutter I guess. I checked with a handful of the “big names” before who didn’t want to take something new on or felt they didn’t have the equipment capable of. I’ll also add Paul also does work in house that normally is a different shop for most places like recoil pad wood stock fitment. |

He's really busy right now, but you can always check to see if he's taking anything else in. I don't think there is anybody out there better with levers than he is. He's currently building a 33 Nosler for me, and he just build an integral 260ai for himself, so he isn't just about lever guns. They are a pretty small shop I think. The owner is typically the one that answers the phone and he’s a good guy. |

I'm going to send my 336 to Louthan. 350 bucks seems like a lot, but I want the work done right. I don't want it chopped, just threaded, and the mag tube trimmed and drilled, and the front sight installed. I'm going with 1/2" threads rather than his recommended 5/8, because my muzzle measures .640". I don't think that's nearly enough meat for 5/8 threads. |
