Finally got myself a trust from National Gun Trust over the Independence Day weekend for the fantastic price of $35! Im figuring out all the steps of transferring my current NFA items over to my trust. I know I need to get it notarized a few places before its "official." What I need clarification on, in the most basic step by step way, its the assignment page. I see it had a place to be notarized and then on the second additional assignment page to be notarized. Do I: - Can I get both pages notarized before I add my items? - Get the first page notarized, and then add items to fill it up. Then go back and have to do the second page? - Add my items to the page, then get it notarized at my leisure? Or am I totally wrong? If I have to get it re-notarized each time I add an item to it, that's going to suck, but its how it works. |

IANAL and this is not legal advice Check your state laws. A notary only verifies the identity of the person signing the document. Most states don't require Assignment pages to be notarized. I create a new Assignment page for every item I add to my trust. I do not get them notarized. Nobody is going to contest anything about my trust so no one is going to court saying the document adding an item to it is a forgery if it isn't notarized. |

I got the advice I needed, I have to get the assignment page notarized anytime I add something to it. Now Ive run into the issue where I moved 4 years ago and filed a form 20 (sent to atf and still have it in my sent box) but they never actually changed my address because I cant process any eForm4 for my suppressors/SBR that I made while living there. What a freaking mess. |
