Hi all - I'm moving soon and finally will have about an 12.5'x8.5' room for a small gun room/workspace. It was formerly set up as a darkroom and already has a pretty large sink, but given the relatively small size of the room I'm not sure the present sink really allows optimal use of the space. It is a bit wider (out from the wall) than I think strictly necessary (alas, don't have exact measurements yet), and also rather shallow. I'm thinking a sink that is a bit more narrow and a bit deeper might help maximize my use of the space, and be a bit more useful for gun cleaning. Any recommendations from those who have set up their own gun rooms, either specific sinks or just a good place to start looking, would be tremendously appreciated! |

Are you planning on reloading? I wet tumble my brass and it'd be nice to have a small sink to drain the tumbler. Also, probably not good idea (in the EPAs view) but after running parts though my ultrasonic parts washer, it'd be nice to have a drain. If keeping it, id definitely recommend a smaller one, maybe one one you can cover and use as a shelf or work space, when not needed and then lift up and access when needed? |

Probably not a lot, but more obscure stuff like .50-70 in smaller batches. Having the drain for the ultrasonic cleaner and a dehumidifier is the big attraction. I really like the idea of a coverable sink. That would be fantastic. |

| My workbench is in the basement near the laundry sink. Useful for cleaning out bore snakes and such. I usually use a large cat litter box to clean my pistol and rifle parts to keep stuff together. Then fill the litter box with hot water and detergent and hand wash the bore snakes when needed. Only problem is I get dirty looks from the cat. |
