@Green0 Was watching this video comparing the Print X , HRT 5 AM, and Fireteam 556. At 12:17, he starts making comments on the can design of the HRT 5 AM, was curious what your thoughts are? He liked the can. I keep reading this thread to decide what I want to put this on and which one I need!  I Kind of Review the Exigent Defense Fireteam 556, the Griffin HRT 5AM, and the B&T Print XH SC. |

I really don't know why he thinks the can needs to be a little bigger diameter, seems like it still performed the best as is. The more videos I watch about the HRT cans the more I'm impressed with them. I'm definitely going to be putting one on the 11.5" I'll be assembling. The only thing I would like to see changed is offer the option to get different muzzle devices with them if they are ordered direct. Not everybody is going to want the ez brake. When I get around to finishing the gun this can will go on I'm going to go with the dual port brake. |

If cost is any object the FRT won’t be used enough to make that consideration weigh very heavily. I have a lot of machine guns but almost zero personal time, and they barely get fired. Things that get shot a significant amount are R&D guns, and testing guns. Machine guns can burn through $150 in less than 3 minutes even in an AR15 platform which isn’t designed for really hard full auto use. I would assume your lefty friendly characteristic is more important than hundreds of dollars in less than ten minutes. Thanks to everyone for the additional input. You're right, FRT use will be for the occasional giggle factor, not frequent use. I've shot real MG's before and they're fun, but I wouldn't want to feed one regularly. Being lefty friendly on semi-auto is a much higher priority. |

So I'll throw in a little input for the FT556, kind of even want to send mine Austin's way so he can meter it. Finally shot it on the wife's 11.5. Went to the farm and took a beaver or two and then shot a string. No ears on, it is stupid quiet. No ringing or anything. It's honestly more quiet with better tone than my brother's Sabre 16" mid length and a Turbo K. It's impressive. Gas wise, I had not shot this upper prior to buying it from my best friend at a very good rate. He's a lefty and said it was well gassed for suppressor use with a H1 and carbine spring. So i left it in that config. Ejection is 1 O'Clock and i did get some gas to the nostrils. I'll probably switch to a H2 and maybe a griffin spring to slow it down a tad. This was shot with hot ass 62gr BTHP hornady frontier. Gun spec's 11.5 Roscoe Bloodline Carbine gas SLR Ion series Unknown BCG Raptor LT charging handle FCD A2 birdcage Plan B muzzle device FT556 on a Diligent Zilch mount. I'm still planning on the M4SDK AM for the 12.5 Criterion I'm putting together but i'd be lying if i wasn't really curious about Evan's upcoming FT556K and now the Rhodie 6K. |
| The weight on the Optimus 6AM page that is wrong is 13 ounces. The other 2 weights are for Dual lok built in, and Hub model without mount. So the 13 ounce spec is some kind of guy making the webpage thing (an error for Ben in marketing). A lot of pages start as a copy of some other page, and the data fields get changed and that's how such an error happens. |

Does anyone have a Rhodie 6K and a HRT-5K and can give me a comparison review? I have a Rhodie 6K and it sounds great, but I also want to add the HRT-5K to my portfolio of suppressors. From what I have seen in a few videos the flash suppression is fantastic on the HRT, anyone heard both of them and have an opinion on the sound? |
