What's the general consensus on Hodgdon Titegroup?  I've found an 8lb jug for cheeeeaaap, can't pass it up.  I have Blackhawks in everything from .32 HR mag to .480 Ruger, and also occasionally load 9mm & .45 ACP.

I load Titegroup in .38 Specials loaded with 158 grain bullets at subsonic velocity.   It works great and sounds like unhooking a pressurized air compressor hose with my suppressor attached.

I loaded 500rds of 9mm 147gr HST with it today.

I use it 9mm and .40S&W

The only thing I don't like about it is the possibility of accidentally double charging a case.

Is it any "dirtier" than other powders?

Leaves a gray haze on the muzzle, but middle of the road for cleanliness in general. Some might be a little better, some are lots worse.

Titegroup is my go-to in 9mm and .45.

9mm here for last 12yr or better,, mainly 147's,, but good with 124's also.. probaly sitting on 16 +/- lb of it

Use it for "target" loads,, dont try to "gas them up"

Works good, but not a powder for a beginner. It has a very low density and a double and a triple charge could happen really easy.  It also is a very peaky powder. Meaning it goes from mild to wild fast

I use it for 9mm but I only use it with jacketed and plated bullets not powder coated (burns too fast/too hot).

There are dirtier powders and cleaner powders. With FMJ, plated and Blue Bullets it is not very smokey, but with other coat bullets it is, enough to notice even outside. I've loaded with Titegroup in 9mm and 45ACP since like 2001-2002.

How well does it work in the magnums, specifically .41, .44, and 45 Colt?  Not looking for hot loads, just something around 900-1k fps.  I already have jugs of H110, 4227, and AA #7.

I love Titegroup in my .45acp lead bullet loads. Works great, is pretty cheap, no problems with it.

I have used a lot of 124gr gallant coated bullets with zero issue with titegroup propelling it. Not sure if the coating they use is powder coat tho. Looks too thin to be powder coated.

I use it for 9mm Makarov and 45 ACP. It works good, it's my go to for Mak, but as others have said watch for double charges ammo, it leave a lot of room in the cases.

I use it for my 9mm 124gr minor load and suppressor load. Works great.

Also for 380 in my G42

it does leave a thin layer of shoot but it does not build up. Never had a fouling issue.

It's fast burning target powder

it really heats the gun up, and makes coated bullets smokey.

still, it's very popular with USPSA/IPSC production / IDPA minor 9mm, and 45ACP.

For magnum revolver loads that are milder than full H110 / 296 / 2400 stuff,  I much prefer medium burning powders like, unique, universal, HS-6, etc.

I love it for its efficiency in terms of rounds-per-dollar or rounds-per-pound. a 3.5gr charge works for 9/40/45 and for stupid-quiet .300 BLK subsonic rounds, and it's also useful for a huge variety of other handgun rounds. Have a good reloading workflow, pay attention, and don't drink at the bench, and double-charging isn't an issue.

I've never heard of it being used in 300blk. Please tell us about it

I load .40 with it. My only complaint is that the gun heats up quick. Not a big deal shooting a match, but it can be a problem on a range day.

That same 3.5gr charge over a CCI #500 SPP, with 208-220gr bullets; in a 6.75" barrel with a 1:5 twist I've had no squibs or keyholing, can't make any promises in a different barrel. BCG doesn't even attempt to move, no gas blowback or fouling in the action, about 3-4" low at 25yds when zeroed at said distance with 110gr TTSX supers. I can shoot them out a window without waking the dog in the other room.

I picked up a few pounds during the shortage a few years ago.  I prefer other powders but it works OK I guess.  I really have a bit of anxiety using it because it takes up so little volume.  I had a friend blow a GP 100 completely apart with a double (or triple) charge he reloaded a while back.  While I consider myself to be a super-careful handloader I guess it scarred me psychologically a little lol.
