My opinion ... it is an interesting first run of a concept that would be useful tool as a fighting scope. But, it is not there yet. A 6 hour battery life is the primary limitation. |

I don't see the appeal of this at all compared to the thermal version NV is best when head mounted and I wouldn't suggest spending half the cost of a used Omni tubbed 14 on something like this Just a range toy that I'd imagine needs a bunch of IR light in most lighting conditions but of course I haven't used one so take it with salt |

Having no further input than having both in hand at Shot this year for a few minutes- Ordered some of the thermal units, did not order any of the NV units. I'll try to remember to report back once the thermal units arrive and we have had a little time using one. From what little I saw, it's definitely not something to compare to a Nox or an RH25... but of course the cost is a good bit less. |

I looked at the thermal version. The core is very small - 256x192. The lens is small. I don't see how it could give you a good image. Plus, it has a 10 hour battery life. That alone makes it unsuitable as a fighting optic. I used to have a 19mm lens 336x256 core FLIR LS-XR. It was near worthless. I currently have a handheld FLIR SCION OTM-266 with a 640x512 core and 19mm lens. It's okay. It seems like the bare minimum for something useful. |
