Installed a Vista 20P about 10 years ago. Other than battery changes it's been great. About three weeks ago my front and back door sensors regularly don't show closed and I cannot set the alarm without bypassing them. In between that I get RF Supervision errors via text/email (and generally at 3AM from the keypad). I replaced both batteries last weekend but still running into it. Do sensors go bad? Not having similar issues with the other 10 sensors. |

Not having similar issues with the other 10 sensors. Yes, wireless sensors can and will go bad. Think of a supervisory trouble like this. Your sensor checks in with the RF Receiver every so often like a "heartbeat". If the system misses that check in, it will go into a supervisory error. Usual culprit is dead batteries. As youve said, you've replaced the batteries. They are more than likely bad sensors at this point. But, as a last chance, try buying a new set of batteries and clearing the trouble on the keypad. Enable chime to make sure that there isn't a trouble locked into the memory and that they are possibly working. |
