Picked up a Geissele 8in 300 BO upper to build out. It comes with the Huxwrx QD muzzle device. Looks like the 762Ti is the only real option in their lineup. I want quiet; I don't get enough range time to worry too much about gas mitigation. Is it worth picking up a Hux can just for this one rifle, or strip off the QD and run my existing Thunder Chicken |

Not worth it if you care more about quiet instead of gas, especially if you are thinking of spending $1300 and using it only on a single .300 BO gun. I like my Sig Hexium 762 on .300 Blackout. If the issue is that your barrel has a pinned Huxwrx muzzle device, did you know that Hux makes an adapter that allows you to any HUB can with a Hux muzzle device? | Absolutely not for 300 Blackout. I own one, it's great at its designated role on semi auto 308 rifles, where the goal is just to get the blast down without forcing too much gas back through the system. In 300 Blackout it's hugely overpriced and will underperform. Buy a 30 cal can at half that price, you should be able to sell the muzzle device for 70-100 bucks pretty easily to put toward your new setup. |
