Interesting product. Probably no way to make it work with an RH25, eh?

The Wilcox FTS mounts are unobtainium lately.

I could see value in that FTS mount, as I have a number of LT660 mounted red dots.

I got a Wilcox SkeetIR FTS from Own The Night as soon as I ordered it about a month ago.  It does seem that they are out of stock today however.

Well the aluminum bridge didn't work out, too rigid to adjust tension on the articulating dovetails, which left me to the mercy of the machinist tolerances. Re-evaluated my print process, made some adjustments, and now have a model I believe to be field ready.

I wonder what that’ll mean for people who own Iray products here in the US? Is there no longer going to be any warranty support? What about “American” companies like AGM who use Iray sensors/cores in their products? It’ll be very interesting to see how this all plays out.

As you can see in the attached photos, the RH25 is now perfectly aligned with a PVS-14 in a Noisefighters Panobridge and also in a KVC/RQE bridge when using the KVC Obverse Shoe Set.
We will start production of this version in the next few weeks. I'll keep you updated along the way.

Allow me to answer with a meme:

My machinist got sick and spent about a week in the hospital with pneumonia. So we lost 1-2 weeks of progress. But things are back to normal now. I'll pay him a visit on Monday and discuss what the schedule looks like going forward.
By the time these are done, I also hope to have a US dealer lined up so you guys can easily purchase these stateside.

The LVPO is a game changer over the red dot and magnifier, the ability to go to 1x is pretty valuable.  Also, the 12:00 red dot makes it so I can still shoot without looking through the thermal or use it for passive with IR illumination.  I'm really digging the setup so far.

I have a MOD bridge with a dovetail adapter for the small picatinny available .  I've decided I'm not helmet mounting it, I'll just handheld it off rifle.

I don't understand why this place has sectioned off so much discussion when there really isn't that much activity in most subforums. There should be just one combined NV, Thermal, and Laser forum. Navigating this place is like going from one dead forum to another hoping to see signs of life.

Guessing something like this + the ADM QD mount.

Honestly not a bad solution, either. I've been thinking about how to use the RH25 as a dedicated thermal sight (not clip-on) and still retain a normal RDS. This seems would work well if you don't mind the 45 degree offset.

Similar concept, but there's a pic of a PoT VooDoo S rear mounted on (I think) a HK416 or Rattler. I always wanted to try that setup with the RH25, but still waiting on a proper adapter for the Wilcox FTS.

Guessing the thought process is tilt 45deg to scan/engage with thermal and leave the day sight at the usual 12 o’clock position for more natural daytime/white light engagements?

I bought a cheap 45 deg offset pic rail to test the concept and I almost hate to admit that it's actually kind of nice. Being able to slap the thermal on/off the gun and not have to worry about the added weight of an LPVO or tripler is pretty sweet.

Here's the holdup:
A tester had sent me photos of his brand new Wilcox FTS mount fitting totally different on the dovetail than his older Wilcox mount. It looks like there's quite a bit of variation in the different batches of Wilcox mounts.
So before machining the dovetails on this entire first batch, I wanted to make absolutely sure that the size I selected would fit most/all mounts.
That's why I recently sent a prototype to a tester who owns several Wilcox FTS mounts of various ages. I'm still waiting for detailed feedback. As soon as I have found out if I need to adjust the dimensions, we can finish machining these.

Alright, so I see that it appears that the prices of new RH25’s are starting to drop down to $3999 across the board at retailers. I have the StingIR 640 currently and am thinking about selling it and buying an RH25.

Here are my pros/cons:

StingIR 640-

Pros:
- Lighter weight than RH25.
-Lower NETD, but not sure how noticeable that is.

Cons:
-Warranty support is iffy after AGM discontinued the StingIR.
-Slightly smaller FOV than RH25.
-Lower recoil rating than RH25 (though I don’t own anything higher than 5.56/300BLK currently).
-Smaller screen size? I thought I remember seeing that the physical dimensions of the screen were slightly bigger than the StingIR, making it a little nicer when used as a handheld.

I also thought I saw that there was an update for the RH25 that made the image even better? Was I imagining that? I didn’t see anything in the last few pages of this thread about it.

So, with that being said, has anyone used both the StingIR 640 and the RH25 and can tell me if the RH25 is worth upgrading to? Assuming that the cost of upgrading isn’t an issue.

I am strongly leaning towards picking one of these up to replace my Super Yoter. I realize now I'd rather have a jack-of-all-trades rather than a master-of-one.

One thing I may find annoying is their selection of battery. I don't suppose there are alternative power sources for these outside of 18650s?

These guys have a really nice 24” power cord. It connects to a 5 v Anker remote battery of your choice. It works the same as the huge factory cable which has data capabilities, but it’s short for helmet use.

Not to hijack the thread, but it's relevant to me, so it might be relevant to others...

I've been looking to get an rh25, but if you're looking for something that's only a clip-on (it seems like it might also be usable as a stand alone) but no head mount, the new sig CV25 640 is supposed to have a prism so it doesn't need to be calibrated to each particular scope, and it will be msrp $4k.

https://www.sigsauer.com/echo-clip-on-cv25.html

Ill probably be waiting to see how those look in reviews and then go that direction.

I would hate to get excited about the rh25 for $4k and buy it and only then find out about the sig cv25 for the same price which has a prism so it can plop down in front of any optic without needing calibration (assuming I'm not looking for head mount capability, which I'm not).

Can you still hand-hold it?  What about the prism keeps it from being helmet-mountable?

You're right. In the announcement video the sig guy says it's a "collimated eyepiece, so the eyepiece replicates for your day scope what it would be seeing, so the light comes out collimated and puts the image at a virtual 150 meters. You're using your day optic to look at the back of the thermal and it's calibrated so there's no shift."
But i guess I'm the one inferring that means they are using a prism. Maybe they are doing something that replicates what a prism would do and it will just be a big disappointment.

NETD numbers seem to be the big buzz word for thermals this year

at the price point of the sig clip on it just doesn't seem possible that it has a prism but who knows until they start getting them out into the world

i'm hoping for a 50mm lens V2

We're still finalizing some details, but I think I'll be able to let you know really soon.
Yes, they will run a pre-order through their website, but that won't go live until I have received the finished parts back from anodizing, inspected them and decided how many of the first batch I can send to the US. The success of the pre-order will give me an idea how I have to scale production in order to meet demand.
I will update people through email/Instagram/... ahead of time, so you won't miss anything.
