I just assumed that you would need to re-zero mainly because I saw how gross the adjustments were at 50 yards. 1 x or y adjustment seemed to adjust several MOA @ 50. I figured no way would it be zeroed with different optics/rifles. It’s my first clip-on though so I definitely am not a SME, guess I need to get out and test it with different stuff

With my yoter all the profiles have been pretty close. Usually just a bit high or low. The exception was unity height dot and magnifier which was quite a bit low. People have reported similar with the c35 so I think for the most part it's close enough for close range without adjusting or switching profiles as long as the day optics are similar height. Of course it's best to test the particular setups and not assume it's the case.

Do they make an adapter to mount the RH25 to the objective of the scope, or does it need to be mounted to the rail in front of the scope...ie....Can this be used on a traditional rifle that doesnt have a rail on the handguard?

I’m going to say no, as the ocular lens on the RH doesn’t seem to be designed with that in mind.

Iray has others units with threaded oculars for that

Badger ordnance makes (used to make?) a forward rail that was milled and bedded into a traditional stock forend. You just milled your forend out and epoxied it in there. Obviously you’d want a stiff composite or full pillar bedded stock and not some flexy bendy ultralight thing.

For clip on / handheld use it seems like the Bering Optics clip on (Super Yoter) may be a comparable choice? Putting helmet mount capability aside, I'm trying to decide if I go with the Rico or SYoter. The SYoter is definitely cheaper, and I like the ability to mount to a objective directly. Without derailing this thread to much, thoughts on the SYoter vs RH25?

I thought the Super Yoter requires an eye piece swap for handheld use?

Either way, I’d personally stick with picatinny mount. But that just because I’m nervous cantilevering 20-30oz way out on the scope bell.  You’re basically asking the front ring of your scope to support the equivalent weight of a whole scope hanging way off the front… makes me nervous.  If there’s a bump or a fall, better hope the clip-on adapter gives.

I had a legit RQE on back order for over 2 years and just decided to get my money back.   I want to mount a PVS14 (or MUM) and a Breach on a bridge, but the Breach and MUM are both minirail.   I could get a knock off RQE bridge, but I can't find any legit or knock of RQE K-clip mini rail adapters.

I've been waiting years to try the Breach and a PVS14 at the same time.   Seems impossible unless I pay big money for some 3d printed plastic stuff.

Any ideas?   Thanks

A d14 might work but it's going to be more $ than a clone. I don't know anything about mum 14s but they make a breach arm and you can buy 2 with the bridge so they most work on either side. Not sure how the breach arm would line up the mum 14 though. This is a Breach arm with standard pvs14 on the other side. I've thought about seeing if the breach arm would work with the Noisefighters nox rail.

So I'm only going off of their social media and not anything direct from them (no inside info). But it looks like they are developing a dovetail for the RH25 that specifically works with the Wilcox flip mount.
This has value to me, since I think it's better to be able to flip it out of the way as opposed to completely remove it and have to reattach, etc.

On a purely financial (residual/resale value) that is why image intensification is better. Analog still rules and gen3 nods you bought 5 or 10 years ago probably haven’t lost any value. Digital night vision might come along and disrupt that in the next decade but it’s failed too so far.

Thermal is more like “digital” where moores law applies (not that fast but you get the point). These units will probably be 25% or less of their purchase price in 5-10 years.

Random question I haven’t figured out. Can you take photos straight on the RH25 and then pull those photos off of the app? I know you can take photos once connected on Wi-Fi in the app but wasn’t sure the other.

Yes you can. My processes is usually turn on rh25, enable wifi, power cycle rh25, when it boots back up connect phone wireless to the ssid of the thermal, open app, save off photos or video to my phone.

I do notice sometimes the phone app would look like it’s downloading the photo or video but it wouldn’t actually save to my phone. That’s when I started power cycling the rh25 after enabling wifi and it seems more consistent now.

I also have been able to update my firmware with the phone app which some people have reported struggling with..

@TigerHawk

Have you gone in to the reticle menu to make sure you didn’t get the update bug? Iray USA has really screwed this up in my opinion by not getting the word out. They even said they were going to edit the firmware page on their website but obviously they haven’t done it yet.

I made a video on this and later spoke to someone who did it and experienced the same issues after update. Video linked below.
A lot of people are using helmet mounted or clip-on and won’t realize they have that issue because they aren’t using the stand-alone reticle option/menu.

Glad to hear that. Iray did say that the earliest models didn’t have the updated software, thus the updates were meant for them (not the latest ones like I have).

Sorry to derail. Just hoping to put that out there again as a warning for anyone who has a newer one.

M4. The manual mentions the box contains “M4×8mm Flat Head Screws” for the recoil-weapon mount and also “M4×6mm Socket Head Screws” for Obverse shoe, but the PICTAIL just says “Low profile M4 screws.” I just used the ones that are countersunk hex heads and have “EGM 0.129” engraved on them.

To answer the question awhile back, at the present time, I am using the NF Panobridge, because it's the only option I have found to work with a -14 right eye, and a thermal (in my case Breach) left eye, on their MUM adapter.   The only other thing I have found to work is the Wilcox original/clone bridge, with the thermal on a ModArmory MUM adapter right eye, and the -14 on a Wilcox/clone dovetail adapter left eye.  So you can get a workable system with thermal right eye, with either Wilcox or RQE style bridges, and possibly the MA/IC bridge although I have no experience with that one.

So yeah, you're right, you need the KA OSS-style adapter to mount the -14 right eye, with the batt housing outboard to make room for the thermal.  And I suppose their dovetail mount for your thermal.  This would be the optimum system, allowing you to swap out between dual -14 and dual spectrum.

But even though the Panobridge is expensive (what isn't) it does work.  By including a MUM adapter and 2 x -14 arms (right and left) it essentially solves the problem of mounting I2 right eye.  I think they are also working on additional adapters for your RH25 and -14 arms that are the right length to work with it.  So for now, that will get you up and running.  And then when KA style adapters are available, we'll see.

On another note, I think dovetail adapters for thermal (and the -14 for that matter) make a lot of sense, to give us weapons-mounting capabilities, with the Wilcox style flip mounts.  That would be pretty cool to have everything dovetail compatible, and be able to switch back n forth between helmet and weapon mounted.   You guys could then shit-can the extra weapons mount.

Back to the topic of securing this thing on a rifle/in a pouch:

I went with these remade cables and some S-biners from amazon. It may not be the toughest thing but if anything gives me a sense of relief. I will secure it like the pics on the rifle then it will clip to an internal strap in a Spiritus GP wide on my cummerbund on my PC. Ordered some heat shrink to put around the cable to keep it from marring/so it'll also be black.

Ha, well yes, it would melt if looped through the rail and then fired enough, however it would take more than what I probably run through a semi-auto AR. 550 cord itself is obviously very strong, however the general failure point, that I have seen in the military especially, is the user not knowing how to tie a suitable knot to keep it. This alleviates that completely and serves as a "QD" way to attach and detach on top of the MQD mount.

Is it a 7-pin LEMO connector?

I’d like to try to find one with a right angle boot and fabricate a small power cable to hook up to a 5 or 10 Ah power bank.  The cable that comes with RH25 works, but is a monstrosity.

@Millennial

I believe it is a Fischer 7pin.

I am currently sending my cable to someone who specializes in building custom cables for night vision systems. He is going to shorten my cable to about 30in and potentially add a 90 degree connector, while also removing the video cable all together.

He also can create lemo port cables that connect RNVGs and other bino and thermal systems to usb power sources.

I can update you once my cable is completed.

You can also message me for his contact info if interested in a RH25 cable.

This is what I’m planning to do. I’m going to ring out the cable to see which pin is getting USB power, and then buy a USB pigtail to splice into it.  But I need to know what the connector is: series, shell size, and keying (if any).  I don’t want to hack up the factory cable though.

I’m wondering if it isn’t the same connector that the iRay Jerry uses… it looks the same AND it’s right angle. Makes sense that it might be; same company, similar spec’d parts.  If it is, I could just get a jerry external cable, chop it, and make two RH25 USB power adapters.

If you're talking about the mount American Defense is making for the RH-25, I'm using a Unity Fast mount for the EOTech and mounting the AD mount / RH-25 on top of that. Lines up almost perfectly with the Aimpoint/Fast set up. BUT unless you're using a 3x mag behind your Aimpoint it's useless. I'm sure you know that, but before you spend the money I figured I'd mention it.
