Hi, My 03 FFL, Curios and Relics, license has come up for renewal again. I know there have been some changes to various ATFE requirements overall. Is the CLEO notification letter still a requirement? I see that notification question still on the renewal form so I assume yes. Thanks, efxguy Cross posted to the FFL forum. |

I renewed mine at the beginning of the year and the requirement was still there. I even used the same form letter that I have used before, just change the name of the CLEO. "Per Federal requirements I am sending you a copy of the form. There's no need for you to do anything. Kthxbye." |

I live about twenty minutes from my county courthouse and sheriff's office. When I renew my FFL 03, I drop a copy of my renewal off at the sheriff's office. Of the three times I have done this, I had a short interview with a newly elected sheriff who asked me what he was required to do with it. I told him it was an opportunity to share any current information your agency may have with the BATF concerning my FFL 03 renewal. Other than that, You can keep it in a file or toss it, as it is only a formality. Gary |
