I recently installed a 80 degree locking piece in a SP5K and now the bolt gap is too large. I ordered a set of -4 and -6 HK brand rollers for $27/ea. to correct. The -6 are identical but the -4 are different. One has the -4 engraved on it and the other just has an X on it. Both are identical in diameter. Height is 1 thou off. The bevel is also slightly different with more on the -4 marker roller and less so on the X marked roller. Would you use these? Thanks. UPDATE 7/2 - I contacted HKParts and they responded very quickly and sent me a replacement -4 roller. I just want to give credit where credit is due. |
| Never heard of a locking roller having anything other than numbers or lines to denote under/over size or having nothing for 8mm. I would error on the side of caution using that one even though it measure proper on diameter. Who's to say the roller has the proper hardness not being able to identify it. You say HK brand but did you purchase from a reputable seller? Also, having to change roller sizes that much after LP change seems excessive. I'd double check measurements and make sure it's between .010 and .020 when dry fired. Cleanliness (lack of) of weapon can hinder proper bolt gap measurement. |

HK Parts has sent me some highly questionable shit on a couple of occasions over the years, and made doubly so by the fact that they often send items not in the original HK packaging. I miss Cal's Sporting Armory -- you'd almost always get it in the original HK packaging. Most recently, I got "HK" MP5 takedown pins that were clearly not HK, and completely out of spec (wouldn't even fit within a factory pushpin lower recess). I contacted them several times. Never got a response or any attempt to make it right. I'll order from them if there's no other option, but they are shady fuckers, make no mistake. RCM is generally GTG from my experience. |
