So are they good to go, or turds?  Found one on GB that has a 1987 date on it (I’d that even real?).  I know they don’t get the premium prices as the Brit/Aussie/Canuck rifles…

no they are .303.

Surprised they were still building 303 in 1987.  I have a 2A1 in 7.62.  Works fine.  Not the prettiest gun in the stash but does it's job.

I've had a couple come through over the years and my buddy still has one of them. They have all performed well , but may not always look the best.

I have had two shot out SMLE's rebarreled with Ishapore barrels that were new in wrap.  New lease on life and they both shoot great.
SARCO had the barrels for $125.

Should be fine

I have one made in 1932 under the Brits when they controlled India. Quality control was outstanding

Probably the best SMLE I have ever owned
