Those of you running a K model at what range do you zero the optic ( red dot ) ? I’m thinking 15 yards ?

I've set my initial zero at 15, but open to changing it. So far, it seems to be the best.

I zero at 25 yards...  and check hold at 100 yards. I shoot 147, and find that loads around 1000 fps are about 6" high at 100.  Depending on your hold, you are good for point black out too 100+ yards..

And yes, for a backpack, shtf, truckgun, etc... type weapon, I prefer to know what the gun and round is capable of.

That's for a gun with a sight height over bore of about 1 inch from the chart.  The iron sight HOB on an MP5 is about 2-1/8 inches, so that would have a pretty big shift in those drop curves.

My Holosun gives me a lower 1/3 co-witness FWIW. And as a side note the top of the front sight ring is right in the freaking way of the dot. Drives me crazy. I may have to take a cutoff wheel to it.

You're even taller than the irons then, so more of a shift.

FWIW, I have a pretty tall red dot mount, it totally clears the irons hood and all, probably over 3.5" HOB.

I installed a Holosun 507C with a Titan Tactical Designs single claw mount and it's perfect for my AP5-P as the dot sits right above the front sight.

Just wait till you get those guys that put the optic another 1.5 - 2" higher using a see through mount.

Or this guy. That thing is 5 stories up. He can't even see his sights. He needs a good cheek riser , just to get a good chin weld

Now I feel personally attacked.

It's very comfortable to me, and has clearance to get nods behind it.
