Apologies to the OP in this now-archived thread here, but I was able to finally take some photos of the different KAC 45 Degree Aimpoint Micro offset mounts. It appears that the newer version (P/N: 115601) is essentially the same as the older version (P/N: 30279) except that the mount body was modified to place the center of the Aimpoint Micro in-line with the center of the mount versus being slight offset. Note as well that the newer model is advertised as "reversible". Further, it was never clear to me if these were made to be used on the small side picatinny sections on the rear of the 3.1 rails or simply on the top rail of the upper/handguard, as they seem to work fine in both locations, and per the third photo below, the side profiles are identical. In short, I'm not sure why the change was needed. Maybe @coldblue may know... See images below for reference. Note the older model is on the left and the newer one on the right in each photo.
