Just painted the sbr, and waiting on a shipment so the 14.5" can completed!

I'm new here, might need some help from an admin to get photos to be visible.

I like it a lot. It has the Tremor3 reticle which is the same reticle as my S&B PMII 5-25x56 that I have in my 6.5CM so the familiarity and utility is there for me.

The PMII is slightly clearer than the NX8, and to me the reticle seems thinner. I know it’s the same reticle and both FFP, but the NX8 T3 can be fully illuminated whereas the PMII just illuminates the dots. I think that’s why the NX8 T3 is thicker because of the illumination wire in the reticle. Or I’m completely crazy and making it up. I dunno.

I think NX8 is a solid choice given it’s features and price range. It’s relatively short, it’s relatively lightweight, turrets are good, mag adjustment ring is smooth, excellent zero stops, good clear bright glass. All in all I have no complaints with it on my 18” LPR Mod 2 and think it would be right at home on the larger SR25’s.

I’ve used it in several long range matches ranging from 200y to 1000y. At 900y and beyond it becomes difficult just from the limitations of the 77gr 5.56, but inside 600y I’m extremely confident with this setup.

Two types of KAC 11.5" Secret Service uppers. The top isn't commercial marked and the bottom is a well used surplus upper. Both have phosphate carriers and chrome bolts (as issued). Optics for them are next.

There's a pretty good thread on them over in the AR Discussions section. I wish the thread was over here in the KAC area, it might get more tracking with KAC/SR16 collectors:

The wait ended today and I was able to go pick up my QDC CQB. Took 11 months to find, let alone the wait. Re sighting the rifle tomorrow.

Awesome. Thanks! Did you try it on the offset option? Do you think it would work with NVG height wise?

Didn't try the offset. I got used to piggyback when I ran ACOG's. I roll the rifle and quickly pick up dot with left eye. I love the ATACR at 1x, so unless I ran it fixed at 4x+, and used RMR as primary, I personally find the RMR to be mostly a backup sighting system, which is a debatable/ subjective topic. Currently just running the ATACR without the RMR on SR25.

You may want to inquire with some dudes that run similar scope/ rd setups with NV, but I don't see why it wouldn't work well.

It's my fav rifle. I'd like a MOD2 as well. Or maybe just the upper. Are the MLOK ones much lighter?

A little but not much. I think most of the weight difference is in the barrel profile vs the rail.

I certainly wouldn’t get rid of the legacy for a mod 2 but the gas system is really slick, the rail and barrel are lighter and I prefer the feel of the URX 4 over the URX II. It has some advantages but I think it’s better as a complement to the Legacy instead of a replacement, especially going to a shorter barrel length.

Edit: My Taupe rifle happens to be stupid accurate so I also use it for load development and as a cheep way to shoot gongs.  It’s a perfect do everything 5.56

Definitely don't get rid of the legacy for a mod 2, get both is the answer here.

The legacy is such a good looking rifle.

I'm guessing the sr-25 is a factory special release emc because the upper is a lighter shade of fde compared to the lower.

KAC did them The SR-25 is whatever FDE cerakote they use now and the SR-15 is the original Taupe(KG Gunkote Flat Service Brown) same as the original M110. The color is a little off in this picture compared to real life, the ones I posted earlier are a closer match. In this picture it does look just like Aervoe Field Drab which is close to Taupe but a little too brown, Light Coyote is probably the closest Aervoe color I’ve found but it’s a bit off as well.
