How do you like the Octane 9HD? I have one on order, fill out Form4 when it comes in. Hoping it lives up to the hype.

I did love my job, working hard is what K9s do…. I was born for it, I lived for it, and died for it; for my country….but mostly for you.

The can is very quiet with 147s and 158s, no question. The user-serviceable aspect is nice, especially since the transfer tax for used suppressors pretty much means I'm married to the can. On the downside, these first generation Octanes must be cleaned with a 500 round interval. If not, the inside of the tube becomes so fouled with carbon that getting the baffle stack out will require soaking, a thick dowel, a hammer or any combination of the three. It appears that the new CTA baffles will correct this. The other downside is the real-world "switchability" of the mounts. After 200 rounds on the Mp5 via the 3-lug mount, the booster housing was so fouled with carbon that the threaded piston for pistol use would not fit. I had to first scrape the carbon out to get the piston to even fit at that point. The only way around this is to simply shoot it on the pistol first, then switch it to the 3-lug mount. That particular order works a lot better. Shooting a suppressed roller-delayed blowback gun is a filthy ass affair. I have had to rethink my cleaning regimen and come up with a new approach. I'll be ordering an ultrasonic cleaner soon to help eliminate some of the elbow grease that is usually required. |

Well, luckily my HK collection is all pistols, except for a Vector V-93 clone.
