| Got a nice maverick 12 gauge security for a song, and I’d like to add it to the HD options. What are the cheapest but still decent ways to add a light? I have both surefire and some railed light options but seems like it’s a lot of work to make magpul forends fit and not sure on tube mounts. |

Pretty sure it was this one, have shot the gun quite a bit and it's still working. Strobe doesn't work all the time, but don't really care and I don't use the switch pad. I did have to buy a rail that mounts between the two tubes, I think I got a cheap one off ebay. Attached File This my latest one, about $320 all in including cheap buckshot and slugs  Picked up the light, mount, side saddle and red dot from Amazon. I think it's a S&W brand light, and has been solid even with slugs. |

| I put a Steiner light on my Maverick 88 from the blowout sale a decade or more ago. Not very helpful I’m sure. The Steiner light hasn’t aged particularly well. It’s not super bright and the buttons are on the light at the end of the mag tube. So in low light conditions I tend to just turn it on and leave it on. Not super conducive to low light operations and current standard operating procedures. I would think a stream light hand guard would be the way to go now. Possibly with a light head upgrade. |

Got an 88 in a CL deal many years ago for a hundy. Ended up getting a 500 slide tube and a picatinny tri rail for it. Put it all on there with a adj stock and a 500 HD barrel. I use a Sreamlight TLR 4 that I picked up used. Lots of years and lots of shells the TLR 4 never missed a beat |

Since you already have some railed mounted lights, take a look at one of the various clamp on railed mounts. There is a pretty decent price range, everything from cheap 'free' with a gun mounts to why does it cost that much units. I have one off of a Turkish M-4 clone that seems okay, but I don't use it as the Turkinelli is mainly a toy at this point. If you have the longer magazine tube, that gives you a lot of room to mount a rail section. The shorter mag tube limits the size you can go with, but you still have some space to work with. The Magpul forend may or may not work for you. Certain Marick shotguns have a dedicated non-replaceable forends. The plastic is molded onto the metal arms and doesn't come apart. It's one of the cost savings of a Maricke compared to a Mossberg. They do sell replacement parts, but that adds to the cost. So make sure to check your fore end first. If it is a one piece molded model, you can pass on the Magpul handguard. It also limits dedicated light forends like the Surefire or Streamlight Racker. I have a Surefire on a few of my Remington 870s and a Streamlight Racker on my Mossberg Shockwave. I bought those lights used at a discount. They cost less than getting a decent weapon light and mount separately. |

Then you can mount any Mossberg compatible pump grip - Magpul, Streamlight, whatever. |
