M1A Scout Squad--What Flash Hiders are Available?

Looking for suggestions on replacing the muzzle brake with a shorter, lighter flash hider.  I love Smith Vortexs but they tend to look too thick for my liking on this build.

Thank you--

M1A is 5/8x24 threads like most 7.62 bores, there there is a ton of options.

I put a blackened titanium DSA flash hider on my .308s to save weight plus I love stuff that never corrodes.

But DSA has lots of others in 5/8x24 too..

I believe the M1A does not possess a traditionally threaded muzzle, but I have found a suitable mount to attach that has the threading to allow other mounts.

**Consider thread closed**

Just use one of the USGI flash hiders LRB sells.

M1A/M14 thread pitch is NOT 5/8 x 24. It's .595x32
SEI makes an adapter if you don't want to go Vortex. So does YHM, I think.

I put a SEI hooded front sight gas lock on mine and used an old school AAC flash hider to mount my 762-SD.

Then added a breech shield adapter from Fulton Armory to keep the gas from setting my beard on fire

Way too long.  Looking for a shorter OAL.
I Have found the adapter, as the other poster mentioned.

Thank you--

Flash hiders are verboten here in the Peoples' Republic of Democratic Utopia (Illinois) for some reason.  Muzzle brakes which actually do something useful are okay.  Go figure.

OP you should sell your muzzle brake to someone in PRDU.

Been using a Smith muzzle brake for a long, long time.

I was shooting a NM M14 in matches, and wanted a beater.  Bought a SA Bush rifle.  When shooting in "positions" I was not holding as well.  My left hand grip was moving during recoil.  The Smith brake calmed things down, but others have commented how loud the device is.  I like the shorter length of the brake compared to a USGI flash hider.
