.015 inches is in the range of a good bolt gap according to this video. The range is .010 to .020 inches.

Leave it as is. It's fine right where it is at 0.015". Only be concerned when and if it ever drops below 0.01".

View Quote .015mm? or .015" because there is a LARGE difference... .015" is fairly wide but in tolerance .015mm is 0.0006" doubt you would even get the feeler gage in that gap if it WAS that. The gage would be so thin it would bend easy. |

You need to pull the charging handle back, release it, and pull the trigger, each time you test the bolt gap. I was going off MM and not inches.
0.15 mm/ .006 inches is what my bolt gap is currently. Originally Posted By drobs: .015 inches is in the range of a good bolt gap according to this video. The range is .010 to .020 inches. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIBo1eVqvVA View Quote |

0.015” is pretty much perfect gap.
Just for reference I have 11 German HK roller gun. Nine of them are at 0.015”one is 0.016” and the last at 0.017” All of my MKEs (5) are 0.013 to 0.014” All my PTR (4] are 0.015- 0.018. You are GTG. |

You are measuring the bolt gap with the bolt in the gun? |

Below the min by a bit but I really doubt that is going to give you any issues. I'm just basing that on the fact that I've seen them run fine with 0.005. + size rollers are very cheap and easy to install.

What issue were you having that made you need to check bolt gap? Does the gun not operate properly if the gap is off? Not being a smartass I genuinely want to know.

it was brand new, I was watching some reviews on it and a FFL/sot stated to check your bolt gap as his was not in spec. so I decided to check mine before I went shooting and this was the out come. its not a big deal just wanted others who purchased the MAC 5 to make sure they check there's as well. I already got a RMA today for the Bolt gap issue and finish issue on the MAC 5.

I thought everyone checked their bolt gap when their new roller locked gun comes home. With spark plug gap gages sold cheaply at Walmart, or any auto parts store, it’s super easy. In my case, my AP5, & P both measure .014”. GARY

Mine has zero bolt gap too. Gonna give it a cleaning and try again. Using a Pittsburgh inch feeler gauge set
