Coregon had better be working that assembly line like they're North Korean slave laborers.

Any evidence that there will be a DMR version of the SPEAR?

Has there been a winner for this contract or is this still active?

Does anyone know if the grip is the same one that came on the Virtus? Or is it interchangeable with any AR pistol grip? Thanks

Would be really interested to see the barrel length and caliber submission for the MRGG-S contract. I’m wondering if it’s a 20” 6.5 Creed. I haven’t come across any ballistics data or any other information from Sig around the 6.8x51mm round out of anything longer than a 13” barrel.
I can only imagine that 6.8x51mm looks great in a 20” though… |

Last I heard LMT and Larue made the downselect for MRGG. There was a reshoot due to bad ammo and KAC and FN were added along side LMT and Larue. But that is just rumors.

Coregon, is the trigger in the Spear a specific MCX trigger or is an AR style?

That'd bring it down closer to MSRP. |

@Coregon does it really shift like this? Or is something screwy going on in the video? Like improperly installed handguard? Thanks

Thanks View Quote Mine and others Spear LTs do it, Arisaka already made a fix for the LTs. Sig doesn't currently call out a torque spec for the handguard screws, but even at 40 in/lbs on my 16 inch I can cause this to happen to an extent. |

I just pulled a 14.5" Geissele URGI out of the safe and did the same thing as in that video. I'm by no means an Sig apologist and have shit on them in the past, but that video is not a big deal in my opinion. When I get home, I'll check my 14.5" DD with an RISII quad on it. I expect the quad with perform a little better, but still have some shift. Quads are still king of the hill if you want little to no movement in your rail. |

I expect the quad with perform a little better, but still have some shift. Quads are still king of the hill if you want little to no movement in your rail. I think some things are being conflated here. The movement that the Sig's rail is experiencing is a shift of the position of the rail. This is a function of it's attachment method, not rigidity of the rail itself. A quad version would be no different. The RISII did well as far as resisting any shift after force was applied, but is not the stiffest even compared to some M-Lok rails. Again, the resistance to shifting is because of the attachment method. The flexibility might be due to it being two parts bolted together, at least in part. |

ETA: shaky arms from lifting and auto correct don't go hand in hand. |
