| After years of wanting to add a K gun to my roller lock collection, I just scratched that itch and I’m now looking for my optic and mount solution. After spending time searching this forum and the Internet, I thought I’d start a new thread to get the most up-to-date information on available mounts, etc. The one thing I’ve gathered from my research thus far is that I don’t think I’m interested in an absolute co-witness set up as I’m fairly certain that I wouldn’t like looking at that front sight through the RDS. I also see that some people are going with a pistol red dot and although I do want to stay as sleek as possible in terms of the mount, I’m leaning towards purchasing another Aimpoint Comp M5 as I already have several of those and really like them. With all that being said, I am open to at least considering other options and I am hoping that some of you will share your set ups and the logic behind why you landed where you did. Let’s see your rigs and what you came up with! |

So I’m not going to be much help as I can’t remember the name of the mount, but I promise I will keep looking. I have a full size Aimpoint on my SD but on the K, I wanted a smaller foot print. Dead on accurate from the install.Attached File |
I don't know how this works, but I nominate Joker and Fluffy for arfcom sainthood.
| I don't have a picture but I'm a poor so on my ap5-p, I run a Midwest mount with a vortex crossfire on the standard riser. I can look through the mount at my irons if I need. Gives me a heads up (low cheek high chin) view through the optic. And then I have a trajectory arms NAS-K to mount my pressure pad for my light that's mounted to the rail on my handguard. |

I have MFI Ultra Low Mounts on all 3 of my MKE guns, AP5, AP5P & AP53 and I’m very happy so far with them. I know you said you’re not looking for the cowitness but on the 2 MP5 guns the dot sits right on the top of the front sight, I don’t notice the front sight at all when the dot is active. |

Comp M5 is still relatively big for a K. I’m a fan of the holosun 509t and use on several “pdws” On my ap5-p I’m using the Midwest 1913 rail & ADM 509t low mount - clears the irons  The MFI rail is lower/slimmer but they’re hard to find in stock. The single claw mounts mentioned earlier are from Titan Tactical Designs and are available in various optic footprints ETA: And congrats on picking up an mp5k gun, they are awesome Keep an eye on this thread for your next parts purchase

Thanks for the replies and info, everyone. Where I’m currently at- stuck on that Comp M5 due to past experiences with ones I already have, AAA battery, etc. I know it’s a little on the big side but I’m just not a fan of the CR2032 cells. Currently trying to find the right rail/mount combo to get that front sight hood in the lower 1/3 or 1/4 of the M5 window without going unnecessarily high. My MP5-N is set up with an M5 up high (KAC RAS with Pic rail attachment and a lower 1/3 Bobro mount) for passive NV heads-up use but on this K-gun I’m not worried about that and would like to sit a little lower. What I don’t know is what optic mount would get this done with say a low B&T rail. ETA: I know that Holosun and the like are getting very popular but I have a (perhaps shortsighted/outdated) hangup with optics of that genre/origin. It is what it is but I prefer to stick with Aimpoints on my setups. |

| I ended up ordering the Aimpoint CompM5s, B&T low mount and a Scalarworks LEAP 10 1.57”. I’m hoping that mount gets the top of the sight hood in the lower third of the optic window as I really am trying to keep the overall package as compact as possible. |

Titan MP5 ACRO mount This is my current favorite mount. It locks up solidly on both optic mounting points of the receiver. It allows use of the irons through the mount, while placing the dot above the irons for an unobstructed view. I’ve used B&T rails, factory HK MLI rails, with various mounts and height of mounts. The Titan is the current best option in my opinion. |

I went with a Titan Tactical raised single claw mount. I wanted a single claw mount due to the reduced real estate on the shortened K (if there was a way to pinch my hand on the charging lever with the traditional double claw mount I would have found it with my oversized mitts). The raised mount let's me do more of a heads up shooting, plus I can still see the iron sights through the mount. I've only had it a few weeks, but thus far I love it! Attached File Attached File |

I was on the fence between a MP5-K and getting an AP5-SD and doing a SD conversion to it, but my son talked me into going with the K--cause it looked cooler. Black Friday came and low and behold there was some sales on mp5k clones. Then the wait on the tax part of the tax stamp to go away for the form one so I could put the cool kid parts on it finally. All in all I think he was right--it does look pretty freaking cool (although there wasn't really a wrong answer). Real talk though, I'll be getting an SD as well down the road at some point. Super safeties have made me view PCC's in a whole new light! |

I just have a cheap sig MSR on a low mount and Midwest rail. It's one of my placeholder optics but now I like the EPS with the dedicated mp5 mount I see on a couple here. I have a 407 sitting in a box with a LaRue mount I was going to try just to keep it small but that eps set up is clean and I like closed emitter micro optics now that I finally tried one on one of my pistols. I think the m5 is a little big but it's not a huge issue. I've had a few different optics on mine and the msr is the biggest and it's smaller than an m5 I think. I still use it with no problems but it does look a little weird to me. I'll get a picture up later. Off topic but are there any closed emitter optics that have the rmr footprint? |

RMR06, ADM, HKP minimalist mount. I really like the setup; just enough to give a clear sight picture, but not ridiculously high.
