I really like the looks of their roller delayed glock pistol. YouTube reviews are great! But most of what I have seen on reddit is bad. Does anyone on here have any experience with the newer roller delayed models? I like everything about the Mat 9 but some things online have me concerned. Wonder if I would be better off buying a Kuna instead. |

If you go with the KUNA, you can't swap lowers, AFAIK. |

No experience here, as I'm only 6 weeks into my wait. Their delays are pretty substantial and I kinda have my doubts that the owner is being truthful about those delays. If I were you, I would wait until they get their suppliers and QC sorted out. Mind you, I am not saying they have/had bad QC, but they are waaay behind on orders and trying to crank out as many as they can now. That could lead to some QC issues. I'm gonna stick it out. It is really annoying, but I also have a bunch of PCCs to play with right now. It would go a long way if they were more forthcoming about the delays on their website and maybe even go so far as to have some sort of order number tracker that shows what order number they are working on. I also was going to order a Matador lower, but I am waiting for the scorpion lowers, and also to see how they climb out of this hole. |

I have been looking to get roller delay pcc and the Mat-9k looks pretty good and I can use glock mags but they seem to be way behind in production of the upper. Optics planet had the upper for about $550 shipped but in the last day or 2 it went from 7-18 day availability to July 2026. Guess I will wait it out, does anyone know if the Mat-9k will take a frt? |

I emailed Matador about when the new buffer system was coming, since I did not see it on their site. Their reply: The Buffer system will be an upgrade you can add to your existing roller delayed upper! Its not a whole new upper. It should be dropping in about 6 weeks here. I find it good to hear the system seems swappable, both for current owners, and if you decide you want to go back for whatever reason. But 6 weeks is probably relative. |

Ordered a Mat9k a month ago, sent an email yesterday about a shipping eta haven't heard back yet. I ordered a Glock lower (currently in stock) and a fde mat9k upper (doesn't show stock numbers but optics planet shows 14-23 days), I'm at 30 days now, hoping for a response to my email soon. |

When I emailed in the past 3x (cost of upper/lower vs complete, frt availability and hydraulic buffer) they responded within hours but it's seems emails about order status get ignored. The thing that kinda of bugs me is you're charged up front, not when the order ships and once they have your money, they quit responding. If I don't hear back via emails then I'll have to call, email is just simpler. |

Well, Matador now has a FRT trip sled available, just need the firearm to use it in. Should be a nice rig once I finally get it in my hands. |

Well, first trip sled was cut wrong (didn't have a cutout for LRBHO) and I guess it wasn't strong enough either. Matador has a version 2 trip sled that fixes these issues, i have a V2 on the way to replace my first one. Now I need the gun to test the trip sled, which finally shipped, should have it and the new, improved trip sled this week, looking forward to see how it looks and handles. |

Put the new trip sled in my mat9k and shot a mag of 147 fmj, shot fine, wasn't ready for how fast it would empty the magazine compared to my 300blk with an frt. Then I had a major problem with the matador Mat-k, I loaded a magazine of 147gr Federal Hi-shok and went to my land to shoot a variety of ammo from 147gr fmj subs, 115gr fmj, 80gr TUI and 68 gr Lehigh. I dropped the magazine and went to extract the hi-shok and it would not extract or fire, after great effort I was able to do an extraction. Upon inspection I only extracted the brass with live primer, the 147gr Hi-shok and powder were still in the chamber. I had a 147gr HST stick in the chamber a couple weeks ago that didn't want to extract but I was able to fire it and then load my practice ammo and shoot it. There seems to be an issue with the chamber either being too tight or too shallow causing the 147 grain HST or Hi-shok bullets to get stuck. It has been a week since I have contacted Matador about the unfired Hi-shok stuck in the chamber but have not gotten a response from them (submitted a support ticket, emailed and called). When the firearm worked, it worked great but it has issues and the company has piss poor customer service. If anyone is considering buying a Matador 9mm (mat9 or matk) at this point in my experience, I would not recommend them until to have better quality control and take care of their customers when they do have issues with their quality control. |

| Rifling is a little close to the chamber much like CZ barrels are done. Some bullet profiles may jam into the rifling before veing fully seated in the chamber. Looks like the barrel is nitrided. If you can find a gunsmith that can ream the chamber just a smidge to push the rifling back, then you shouldn't have issues with bullets sticking. Nitride is tough on reamers. |

It really does stink to see issues with Matador. I was looking into getting one of their uppers instead of a new platform. I hope they get their kinks worked out as I think the Mat 9 is one of the most aesthetically pleasing sub guns out there (that doesn't destroy your credit score.) Hoping to hear good news soon. |

My experience with a MAT9 roller delayed upper is that the 3D printed block with the guide rod broke on its first range session (second full mag). Matador arms quickly sent me a replacement, actually two replacements. I thought that was weird and I took it as a sign that maybe the company expects it will fail again at some point. Good thing is, so far, it's worked flawlessly the last 500 rounds since. -Deke Edit: I went with the MAT9 over a Kuna because the AR lower receiver means parts compatibility and aftermarket trigger options. |
