Those look nice. I'm curious. Would a legally registered lower with sear function in full auto with one of those?

I was happy to get mine today and have it work perfectly, so far.

So did mine for a few hundred rnds, then the malfunctions started. I then replaced the 3 main parts known to cause issues with HK parts, ejector, extractor and extractor spring and I ran over 4k rnds without a malfunction. When I shoot suppressed I use a 80* locking piece and it runs 100%. Unsuppressed I use factory locking piece and it runs 100%, best gun I bought in the last 20 years.

Mine has been super reliable and is a tack driver. Was zeroed at 50yds out of the box.

I will probably place another HK Parts order and get a 2nd Extractor, multiple Extractor Springs, and a Ejector.
I have those for the AP5 already. Perusing HKParts I'll grab some black or silver extractor springs this time around along with the copper ones. $6.74 each German https://hkparts.net/all-parts/h-k-rifle-extractor-spring-for-all-hks/ "New factory HK German part. The extractor spring is the #1 most common repair and replacement item on HK firearms. Many HK gunsmiths recommend using this extractor spring on all HK 90 Series HK's. This is also an upgrade for those who want to upgrade the MP5/94 copper extractor spring to this stiffer silver extractor spring (longer and stronger life extraction)." $3.49 FMP https://hkparts.net/all-parts/fmp-rifle-extractor-spring-for-all-hks-hk-contract-fmp/ |

I’ve SBRd both my AP5 and AP5-P.
Only issue I’ve had was with the 80° LP in the P. |

They run and I don't want to mess with their functionality / reliability by adding in US parts. However, the Clone thread being so chalk full of SBR's is getting to me. I would really like a fore grip on the -P. |

Should I pick up some spare extractors, ejectors, and extractor springs, or do MKEs eat those at a higher rate? Also, the German spring is copper colored, not black. I suspect HKParts mislabels non-German parts as German, hence the need to replace them often. |

The black or silver springs are for all the other rifles 91 33 etc. However many here are using the black or silver springs on their MP5 / SP5 clones. I recommend buying a couple 4 spare extractor springs. Don't just buy 1 or 2, like I did with my Zenith. I plan to try the black German HK rifle spring in my AP5. This gent recommends replacing your extractor spring yearly, based on shooting 4000rds a year or earlier, if you start experiencing failures. He also shows you how to test your extractor spring. A good extractor spring will hold a live cartridge snapped in under the extractor (when shook). A bad extractor spring will drop a live round. Note: Pulling the extractor spring out of the bolt damages it. Don't pull it out unless you have another new one to replace it with. HK SP5 #1 Maintenance Item Must Know Don't be a Noob h&k heckler & koch mp5 sp5k Also note at 5m46 "All it takes is 1 malfunction and you can bend that spring enough to have all sorts of issues." That makes me hesitant to try non-HK or MKE mags. I have 3 Zenith marked KCI and 2 Gen 2 20rd mags. All of them cause last round failures to feed. I haven't used the Zenith marked ones in my AP5's. I did try the 2 20rd Gen 2 KCI mags and got last round FTF's which could mean I need to change out my Extractor Spring and dump those KCI mags. Another video worth watching - Checking your Bolt Gap. Both my AP5, & P work perfectly in semi auto 100% out of the box from Turkey. No German parts needed. And I’m using 16 year old Wally White Box 115 Gr ammo because I bought tons of it years ago. So far, it’s a Timex watch. GARY

Very nice. But SBR those things, and ditch the floppy rubber ducks.
Deets on the front pin / quick release sling. Looks like something I need now. |

Now having 2 reliable licensed copies, I can't decide which I like more.
Attached File If I were to SBR one of them it would be the AP5-P. However that one just fits so nicely in my Ford F150's center console box. |
