I should start by stating, no arrest record, never been delayed purchasing a firearm, but my wait times on NFA items seems to always find me in the "delayed" status.

Trust with 1 RP
certified (2) suppressor on 09/07/23
both were approved on 08/27/24
approximately 354 days

I had 405 days on one prior approval, but most of approvals come in around 300 days (prior to UPIN).

Applied for a UPIN on 11/29/23, and approved with UPIN on 12/14/23.

Last two suppressor approvals with same trust and same RP with the only change being the UPIN on the Form 4's.

Certified 07/10/24
Approved 08/31/24
52 days

Certified 08/09/24
Approved 08/28/24
20 days

Honestly dont know if that is because of a UPIN or because times have sped up so much.

I recommend a UPIN for my Hispanic customers if they are wanting to get into NFA.

NiCS is only "instant" for whites.

Dumb question…is there a link to the form for applying for the UPIN?  The beast’s website navigates like you would expect a gubmit POS to work.

Thought I was, but I must not be white then. I never get instant results.

That's still pretty fast for a trust.  The UPIN sure isn't hurting anything.

The last two were faster because I wasn’t going into the delayed pile like all the others before getting a UPIN. I sent them my UPIN with the control numbers for the cans that were hung up. I think that and a Senator inquiring finally shook them loose at 350+ days.

Last name Smith?  Does Georgia's LTC bypass NICS?

Not a Smith, but do have some stuff on my record from 1979 that delays things. And, yes the Georgia carry permit allows you to bypass the NICS check for firearms purchases, which is a big reason I keep renewing mine even though we are a Constitutional Carry state now. However, that doesn't help with NFA stuff. I haven't had the good fortune of getting the fast NFA approvals...

I’ll have to look into it further. I’ve briefly looked at it and seemed kind of a pain. I know one thing it asked about was being denied in the past. I did get denied once, but after sort of disputing it, I got it approved (long story).
