The blast is actually not bad, your ear sits somewhat recessed in the u part and blocks some of the direct blast. Becuase there is no bottom to it you don’t get as much interference with the stock of your rifle like you do with a closed ear cup style. If you like doubling up ear protection then these are not going to be it. If you have no problems with normal ear plugs but want Comms in somewhat of a normal headset format then that’s these. Honestly are they worth it... yes and no. If they fit what you need and work then yup worth it. It’s still really hard to beat the durability and versatility of comtac III’s, I just wanted something different and something that my ears are not going to sweat to death in the summer in.
