If you have an optic recommendation for my M16, it would be appreciated. Actually, I need an optic for both my 223 upper and 22LR upper. Something in the medium range of cost would be best, like $500. But I'll spend what I have to. It's hard to figure out what to get, because there a million options. I have an Aimpoint H1 on my UZI that I like. I needed a carbine upper, and after a lot of searching around, I got a stripped 6920 upper from Brownells for $467 after the 15% discount for signing up for their tsunami of promotional emails. https://www.brownells.com/gun-parts/rifle-parts/rifle-receivers-parts/m4-5.56-upper-receiver-groups/ I didn't really get to test it 100% for accuracy yet, because all I have for an optic right now is a Colt carry handle. But it seems to be very accurate. The two-shot sighting groups at 50 yards were almost touching each other. And that's using a block of wood for a rest and with the scratchy trigger. Once I get a better optic and a new FCG, I'll give it a better test and report back. |

For target practice. I shot at the 200 yard gong on Saturday in semi-auto and hit it about 70% of the time, offhand, even with the horrible trigger. So it's a nice accurate upper. I'm very happy with it. I already tried using the Leupold 3-9x scope off my AR, and that didn't work, the gun jerks so much in FA that even on 3x I instantly lost the sight picture. That could be user error, I'm not exactly a marksman yet with this gun in FA. Hopefully, if I can get my 22 upper to actually run OK, I'll shoot a steel plate match with it. I shoot a subgun match once a month. What kind of shooting do you do with yours? |
