1) I need suppressor suggestions (trilug, dedicated for this gun). 2) I plan on SBR it (not sure why other than a fore grip; the brace is longer than the B&T stock I have for it.) 3) I also want an FRT for it - it seems there may be something coming soon that would be drop in for this? (ARHK??) 4) Should I do anything different with current optic setup? Raise it up some? The red dot is just above the top of the front sight ring. I live in VA so making these changes has a time limit on it; filing for SBR stamp today. Would like to find suppressor soon. May not make the FRT launch date?

Personally, I don’t like the big, heavy, and long subgun suppressors on the compact 5K guns, even though the suppression is better. It just looks weird to me, so I went with a relatively short and light can. I was running an Omega 9K on my SP5K-PDW, but I’m swapping to a Huxwrx Flow 9K Ti soon. |

Immediate suggestion as you are in VA - buy the full size version while you still can. Roller locks are great guns, and I would prioritize getting a second while you can. If you can, also get the SD model and have it converted to a true SD. SBR for sure - there are tons of stock options that are easy to swap. Drop in FRT is amazing - as with the above, buy it now before that door gets closed. |

I submitted application for SBR today. I am going to leave the optic situation alone for now. Waiting for ARHK solution to become available - hopefully before looming VA gun law effective date. Here are comments from Grok about suppressors mentioned here (except OCL Lithium which is 6" long). Thoughts? I can only buy one and need to choose.

Love my incolite 9 on the mp5. Comes with a titanium threaded mount, inconel 3d printed at 6 ounces, pistol caliber full auto rated and pretty cheap. They make the 9s as well at 4 ounces and 4 inches long Attached File |
| If you buy the Wolfman and dedicate it to the 5K, are you ever going to run it in the long configuration? If you’re only going to run it short, then it’s a waste to buy a modular can and pay for an extension you’ll never use. That’s kind of why I moved away from modular cans; I tend to leave it them in one configuration all of the time, thus defeating the modularity, so why pay extra for it? Only get a modular can if you’re going to use it. |

IME The full size clones run better than the K clones. Particularly when you start adding a suppressor and or an FRT. |

My buddy broke the hammer in his MKE K gun while shooting suppressed with the standard LP, I doubt he had fired more than 300 rds. when it happened. I modded a surplus FA hammer to replace the MKE piece for him. The stupid thing is that I had an extra 80° LP in my bag the whole time and never thought to install it! So buy an 80° LP if you're planning to shot with a K model with a can. |

I found that a 90 degree locking piece worked really well for my AP5-P. I didn’t need the 80 degree until shooting heavy subs in Super Safe. I’d pick up both just to have your bases covered. Two things: 1. A 80* locking piece may not run in your gun at first. When I had a PTR K, the 80 dropped in and the gun ran. (I did have to adjust the bolt gap. See #2 below.) My AP5-P initially wouldn’t run with an 80*. I’ve got several hundred rounds through it now and recently tried it again. After checking the gap. If memory serves it would run 115, 124, and 147 gr. with a suppressor, but only 115 without. It’s currently working with all modes and bullet weights running a 100* lp. I think they ship with a 110 so the 100 is a little improvement if that’s true. If you going to only shoot your gun suppressed the 80* will probably work fine. Since I mainly shoot 115gr bullets it’s not a big deal for me. 2. Changing your locking piece will probably change your bolt gap. It’s easy to measure. If it’s out of spec it’s a bit of a pain to change. You have to buy different rollers. It’s odd how many MP5 owners never even check the gap. I think there’s enough leeway in it most can get away with. If the bolt gap is within the specified range, most of us would probably never shoot enough ammo to change it. |

I agree with the guys suggesting the R9. Mine has the YHM trilug adapter. I like small suppressors on all guns.  There are are probably newer K suppressors that are lighter, but life is too short to run long suppressors.  Unless you are going for the absolute most quiet one you can find. |
