| I am not going to renew my SOT next year and have several dealer samples I will need to sell. I have a few projects in the works and wondering if I need to finish them before I let ATF know I am not renewing or can I let them know, start selling my inventory while I finish my projects and paper and sell them? |

You have to wait until 90 days before the expiration, then start selling. You can't sell them before the 90 day window opens. |

You can start your 90 day window at any time after notifying the ATF that you want to stop/cancel your SOT. You can also advertise and sell the items ahead of time, and then file the form 3s once you are in your window. Of course this should be stated up-front in the ad and in a sales contract of sorts |

From ATF as of this morning Please ensure the Out of Business Letter contains the following criteria: The letter must be signed and dated. The target date of when the business will be closed must be included within the body of the letter. The letter should not be submitted more than 90 days before going out of business. If outside the 90 days, provide additional information regarding the need for more time. Please provide on letterhead if one is maintained by the business. Reference the SOT(s) (EIN) going out of business. List all the FFL(s) associated to the SOT (EIN). List all the machineguns in the inventory that will be requested for transfer under 479.105(f). |

| Not to hijack, but planning to not renew mine either and was wondering about if I was going to destroy/cut up any MGs I have. I know I have to write a letter to the ATF notifying them the MG has been destroyed, but do they require pictures/are they going to send a field agent out to inspect the destroyed parts or can I just chuck them/sell them as a parts kit? |

Why cut them up? 2. Just take some detailed pictures and keep them somewhere. Email them to yourself or something so you'll have them for a little while. If you are really worried, keep the cut section of the receiver that has the serial number as evidence. |

Either in case they don't sell prior to the SOT expiring, or to keep the parts kit to build as a semi auto later on. |
