Just bought a 50th Anniversary AND configured in a tactical way - including the Trijicon scope. Blued barrel and action but stainless steel stock and magazine. A mixed thing - plus the 50th Anniversary stock as well which I find a classic beauty. A-team+Nam style tiger stripes. The Driven Arms grip was a game changer. Made my own cheek piece with some cordura and a rubber pic rail cover at a 45 degree angle. Nice and cozy, stock still folds perfectly, and can still use irons. Think I'm done modding this one, though I'd want to somehow make a side sling adapter for the front. You can't see it, but put small piece of rubber grip 'tape' on the buttpad of the stock so it won't slip as easy shouldered. Small things = so much better. Attached File |

Interesting to see that a (much more effective) dual-clamp strut fit. Which one did you use? I'm assuming this was the handgrip used: https://drivenarmsco.com/product/mini-14-shadow-crossover-grip-mini-14-scg/ Since a floorplate is available, I'd definitely get one, but I'd test it with some dead weight inside the pistol grip before fully trusting it; been burned before. |

The strut is a Mo-Rod ( odd sounding name) and was skeptical about the suggested install, but it went on fine. Should be able to get some range time soon and will see? Yes that is the grip, feels very solid in hand and really changed the whole attitude of the rifle, it feels like a capable fighting rifle now. I opted against the floor plate just for simplicity. After handling this one, the old grip, which I thought was just fine, now feels lacking. Really happy about the adhoc cheek piece, the rubber and Cordula do well together- just made it up on the fly this morning:) |
