I am outfitting an M240 for a client. Optics are requested since this unit is select fire. Options are: 1. Elcan 1.5/6x in .308 2. Trijicon ACOG 6x48 3. Trijicon MGRS with 3x flip over magnifier. Anyone have real life experience with these options? Thanks |

Slightly off your list but I had a Elcan Spectre 1x/4x with the .308 reticle that I used on ours for a little while. It worked well. I imagine the ELCAN would do well. The large view area of the optic was very nice to have.  MAG58 Freehand |

I mounted an Elcan. It required more effort to be in the sight picture, so it was removed. The Trijicon MGRS is fast and easy. Went with that one. Firing single shot using the 3x multiplier made for decent and repeatable shots at 150 yds. Being open bolt it, will not be a precision rifle, but certainly good enough. I'll be working with it to refine and further dial in. It has been quite hot here and I'm waiting for more comfortable weather. Also added a Surefire MG suppressor. It works well. Attached File |
