I saw a video from forgotten weapons and also another one from nine-hole reviews that said the p90 magazine requires ammo to have a lubricant on the casing in order to function in that magazine. These are both highly credible people. The only 5.7 weapon I would even consider would be a PS 90. Now there is allegedly an frt for it. So the question is which manufacturers if any besides FN themselves make 5.7 that has the lube cases? Or is there a lubricant that I can apply to the casings myself so that I could use some other non-fn ammo in the PS 90 magazine? |

Any factory 5.7x28 should be GTG. They should all have the coating on them for proper function. Care must be taken in reloading. Very easy to remove the coating. Also limited firings before it wears off. Some say you can spray Teflon spray on the cases. In theory it should work. It's just to help them function in the mag. The 5.7 pistol isn't subject to the same limitation. |

My own view is that left-wing positions largely come about from resentment, I agree with Nietzsche, a resentment about the surrounding social order. They have privileges, I don't. Or, I have them and I can't live up to them. Roger Scruton

The “lubricant” is a laquer or similar product that needs to be on the casing due to the fact the 5.7 casings have a straight wall (true cylindrical, no taper) to allow the casings to stack without curving. The reason casings normally have taper is to allow them to “uncork” and extract from the chamber more easily, as true straight walls/cylinders create a lot of friction. The lubricant reduces this friction. It is a dry/hard clear coating that is applied to the casings at the factory and is not obvious, and isn't a wet oil. You don't need to do anything to any factory made ammo, it should all be good to go. Sven Manticore Arms |
