Looking at making an SBR out of an extra PSA lower I have. Filling out a Form 1 and found PSA PA-15 listed within the ATF directory. Also found PA-15 Multi. What should I select for model? PA-15, PA 15, PA-15 Multi? For caliber, should I put down Multi or 5.56mm? Trying to avoid any rejections. So far my other Form 1s have not had any issues, going through a trust, just took about 60 days from submission to approval. |

For caliber you put the caliber you are building. 5.56, 300blk, etc. Use EXACTLY what is on the receiver PA-15, not PA-15 multi |

I'll be the odd man out. I had a PA-15 Multi approved 2 months ago. I also forgot to put down my engraving info. It was approved with no conditions. The PA-15 Multi was in the drop down window for model, so I used it. After it was submitted I read on here how guys had been getting disapprovals using Multi. I may have just been lucky with the right examiner. I put 5.56 as caliber and my barrel length in the right spots. YMMV. .png)

Pretty sure that you can't select anything different for reason to make the firearm now. The model is PA-15. Manufacturers are required to engrave the caliber. Many now just put "Multi" as you can make 300BLK, 22LR, etc out of a standard AR lower. ATF will not accept MULTI as the caliber on a Form 1 so enter the actual caliber you are building, i.e. 5.56mm in that field I just had a form 1 approved this week doing exactly this. |
