We had a wildfire evac order tonight and I was busy pulling stuff out of the safe.  The lanyard on one PVS-14 snagged another and it tumbled to the floor, maybe 4 feet onto carpet.  I'm not sure if it banged the lip of the safe before it hit the carpet, but that's where it ended up.  No obvious external damage.  At any rate, it now powers up for about 10 seconds before shutting itself off.  This is with multiple new batteries.  There was no battery in it when it fell, and it worked fine last week. Is there anything I can check before sending it back to TNVC?  I find it hard to believe a "combat" device failed so easily.  It sucks because it was going on a hunt this weekend and it's now DOA.

I had the happen to my PVS-7s- bad switch or connection, especially over time. Had to replace the housing.

I removed the Norotos DDA and it stayed on.  It looks like one of the electrical contacts on the housing is inset a few thousandths deeper than the other one, but it could've been that way before the fall.  At any rate, I reinstalled the DDA and it is staying on.  I'm glad it was something simple.  Thank you, Will!

I’ve always found the turn off feature on these to never really work.  I just put tape over the contacts and then put the mount on.  That way it won’t turn off on you when you need it.
