So, gas-delayed blowback like the HK P7.  Barrel below recoil spring/gas assembly like the Browning 1900.  Bore axis is in-line with the web of thumb and fore-finger.  Double-stack.  Fixed sights (seriously, they are fixed to the frame, not the slide!  The low bore axis should allow suppressors without suppressor sights.  I don't care how much it costs at this moment, I'd like to shake the designer's hand.

Who here has suppressed a gas-delayed blowback (other than Hans Gruber)?  What were your experiences with doing so? I know delayed-blowback suppressed can get kinda dirty.  Also, I wonder how they deal with the heat of the system.  I know the P7 gets as hot as a branding iron and the new Archon pistol's trigger and frame get hot when you shoot them.  I would think that the suppressor would increase the dwell time and therefore the heat.  Okay, I do care how much it costs because I don't want to have to mortgage my children to get one.

First look at ALIEN pistol from Laugo Arms

Could have named it something cooler than Alien, lol.  It's cool to see some innovation, rather than another Glock copy.

I've never shot a suppressed P7 that was not noisy to the shooter. They also tend to eject brass into the next zip code. Unless these folks designed this from the get-go to be suppressed and made allowances for it in the gas delayed design, it's probably going to be no better than a P7.

This.
"We'll just add a threaded model later" or "It wasn't designed to be suppressed" are common statements from title I manufacturers.

ETA: Does it take Glock Mags?

Laugo Arms said their price point should fall in line with SV Infinity 2011's. So expect somewhere around $4,000+.

Maybe a threaded barrel, heavier action, and increased spring pressures would help some in delaying action.  I would like to see the grip trigger area made from polymer to reduce weight and cost.  $4000 would make put the gun in the competition use, and high-enders only market.

On the P7 there is only the 1 big spring around the barrel right?  Did anyone ever mess with spring rates for use while suppressed?  The P7 just sounds like a bad host as no one would make slides, might not be much room for more coils, increase wire thickness, etc that would allow for higher spring rates.  I would like to own a P7 someday wish I would have caved 9 or 10 years ago when I was offered a good deal on one...

I owned a heel-release P7 back in the day.  Shot it once and sold it.  It was a SUPERB gun with meticulous workmanship and materials.  Man, this thing screamed quality.  My ONLY problem with it was that it pinched the web of my thumb when I shot it.  I was also moving from Alaska, so I was selling about 20 guns at the time.  Easier to transport cash than guns.

I got in touch with them on this issue.  Threaded barrels inc 2019-2020.  Pricing is SVI pricing, their target is a few thousand a year, aimed at TOP competitors for the foreseeable future.  They claim it will suppress "well" but no word beyond that.  Of course and as always, wait on end user reviews before making conclusions.  But the Alien should definitely be kept on the radar.

Hopefully they do a full court press and get a lot of review copies out next year like FK did with their BRNO.  And hopefully unlike the BRNO, it won't be 99% hype and completely overpriced for what it is (which the Alien doesn't appear to be, but who knows).
