It's an 03a3, but made up to look like an 03a4. Remington receiver from January 1944 with an 11-43 dated barrel. "R" marked bolt knob and CMP stock.        |

Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet... but it fills in a missing piece of my US WWII rifle collection. Last one I need is a Johnson rifle and maybe a M3A1 - but both of these are not easy to find.  Already have:

| Now that I have one, it makes sense to me, but I never realized that these had to have modified bolt handles and different stocks with a cut in them for the bolt profile. I thought they were just a standard 03a3 with the sights removed. At least, the repros. I know the real ones were purpose built with special barrels and even the SN location. |
