Very small, simple, and inexpensive. Bigger plate carriers kept getting snagged on saw palmettos where I train. So far it's holding up great.

Eagle PC + cummerbund

Does anyone have a comparison of weights of empty/bare plate carriers? I've looked up the BFG LMAC, SKD PIG, Mayflower APC, and they all talk about how lightweight they are, but none post their weights (nor are the visible on retail sites).
I have a custom made PC by Ferro Concepts, and it weighs 16 oz flat with a BFG 10-speed 3 mag pouch with Helium Whisper backing. I've reading on MM's site that the Crye JPC is 1.3 pounds. I've also seen that the new First-Spear Strandhogg weighs 1.7 pounds. That carrier has caught my interest, too bad it is $400... 
Other than that, I really cannot find weights for the popular "lightweight" carriers... does anyone have the numbers for this? Pic thread:

I appreciate it... while I really like my PC, the lack of a full cummerbund really limits my ability to use this for more acrobatic-intensive feats. It's more of a concealed carrier, which is the way I designed it, but I find myself also wanting an overt carrier. The Strandhogg really looks like the way to go... if someone wants to donate it, I wouldn't mind.

PIG and some Tacos. I have the EOD pouch on the left side now with a TQ attached. I am thinking about just going with flat tacos instead of the doubles. I think the lower profile would easier to get into more positions. I'll try it out in a few weeks and see. I am non LEO, non .mil, non nothing, just a regular guy.
ETA: Yes, there is a "non-permissive environment specialist" patch. Because it's cool. Not because I am.

It's a Banshee with Ares quick release kit, Tag shoulder pads (I think), KYWI pouches, Tag hydration carrier (I think) and source bladder and some admin pouch I've had for like 10 years lol. I like it clean so most stuff goes on my belt.
I honestly preferred my older IOTV sized vests, they looked better IMO and I like the extra soft coverage. I can shoot a little better in this though and it allows the use of a belt which I prefer. When I get a chance I'll be switching to a PIG I think. It looks a bit more comfy and shooter friendly. 
ETA: not exactly part of my PC but it’s in the pic and I love it, I combined a Magpul MS2 sling and a Viking Tactics padded sling. I'd recommend it to anyone, it’s awesome. |

Tactical Tailor Basic hydration pouch 6x6 pouch (forget which brand) that houses a converted ifak insert that now houses OPAs and NPAs, with a king airway laying behind the insert. The premise behind this setup is so that I can treat one PT w/o having to crack my bag. I set it up with the stuff i had laying around the house. Picking up some older DBT stuff in navy to replicate it for work. |
