I'd read about the early model breakages.  Good thing there's a repair kit out in the Fleet.  The width of the thing looks...significant.  Is that an issue?

FWIW, I did use the FILBE day pack as an emergency overnight bag while doing PSD stuff and quite liked it.  Big improvement over its ILBE predecessor (which I didn't dislike, actually).

Haven't had any issues so far. I do prefer traditional mountaineering packs that build vertical rather than horizontal and out. With that said, the main pack itself without the sustainment pouches is not that much wider than the ILBE

I am a civilian who likes to shoot, that's pretty much it. My "mission" is to GTFO and let the Police/National Guard/Avengers handle things so my gear is a little different than most as I do not wish to look like a combatant.

1st line

My first line consist of my EDC.
- M&P shield 9mm or M&P VTAC 9mm + tlr1.
-Bravo Concealment holsters for both. 4'oclock
-2x reloads for VTAC 9mm or 1x reload with shield either single bravo concealment mag holster with shield or double mag holster with VTAC. 11 o'clock
-VTAC = 52 rounds of 147gr hst +p   shield = 16 rounds of 147gr hst +p
-CRKT folder front right pocket, this thing is a tank.
-streamlight protac 2l flashlight weak side carry front left pocket.
-soe EDC belt.

2nd Line

My 2nd line is really simple and low profile. The 2nd line is more for the very unlikely situation I am at home, aware someone is breaking in, and have time to even put the damn thing on.
-Galls iiia concealable vest.

3rd Line

As a Civilian 3rd line actually gets a ton of use, I take it camping, hiking, to the range, It gets used quite a bit.

-Kifaru E&E or Hill People Gear Tarahumara Pack.

Both Packs are really light day packs, more like big pockets than packs. The Kifaru was too overt for my needs so it is a dedicated range bag now and the Tarahumara  Pack is my hiking, camping, dicking around outdoors pack.

The Tarahumara pack has the following inside curently,

-Oakley Windbreaker
-esee izula fixed blade.
-Klarus xt10 flashlight
-mechanix gloves
-2x 1qt Nalgene Oasis bottles.
-spare batteries for Ear Pro, both flashlights.
-Granola Bars.
Not everything is pictured. Pack has a sleeve between the wearers back and the main compartment to fit a large bladder or short rifle.

And here is everything in a big ole pile.

Do yourself a favor; the next time you go to the range, shoot your Hydra-Shoks, and replace them with something a little more modern. There have been significant advances in bullet design since the birth of the Hydra-Shok, with 9mm benefiting greatly from those advances. (Personally, I prefer Speer Gold Dot's, particularly the 124 gr +P load.)

I used to be a 115/124gr +P Corbon whore for yrs. Always hated the slow-arse 147gr loads of old. Now Underwoods new 147gr Gold Dot +P+ 9mm load pushing 1200+fps thru a G17, is 'more better'. 13" pen. .75" average expansion. 100% wt. retention.

Hijack off.

What are you using to hold the light switch on? Looks slick and are you concerned at all about grip if it gets wet or muddy?

Okay awesome, thanks. Might be going that same route and really don't feel like switching my VFG out to one that can hold a switch.

You can choose the direction and type of mags it'll accept.  They sent me this one to T&E and review, which I am finishing up in the next month or two (want to get enough time behind it before I make any statements worth anything).

This one has kydex belt loops and takes glock mags, bullets forwards and a pmag bullets forward (beer can grip) left belt hip mount.

Haha I got mine from ebay but it looks like that it's the same seller (from Jurassic Park San Diego).

One thing I don't get is why the ACU went with Kryptek Typhon instead of any Tropical Camo.

So in a two point it's correct, but if it's a one point I'm correct?

All sling types are in use. You just have less control over your weapon when slung & not in your hands while using a one-point.
