| So I have this South African Fal kit for several years now and I was wondering is there a correct upper receiver available for it? I know DSA at one time used to sell R1 receivers but not any more. |

The only hyphenated names I like are cartridge names......30-06, 30-40, 38-55 etc.

Anything but a Type 3 receiver will work*. I'd wait for the R1 receiver. I've built four of those. Only thing I'd watch out for is to test the locking shoulder dogleg in the cutout in the receiver before installing. I had one where the hole was too small and the dog leg ripped off. DSA took care of that. *There are period pictures of one rifle with a Type 3. Just one. |

Have you called DSA and asked? They have a CS guy named Robert who is probably the nicest and most helpful CS individual I've ever spoken with. They actually have a real phone number right on thier website in the top corner and a real American person will answer and probably give you a real specific lead time on those recievers. |

At any rate you get the inside scoop. I know when I spoke to them I got a reasonably accurate timeline. (give or take a month) and when you do finally get that email…..don’t assume that you have a liesurely number of weeks or months to actually order it. You don’t. Ask me how I know, lol, I was second guessing myself and they were out of stock again. I had to wait for the next run. |
