Just a heads up to those considering ordering…I emailed about my order today as I am working on week 6, which is as the lead time I was told. I was told that barrels are backed up due to the rush from not only RI but also VA, chances are I’m not going to see mine till mid June, and there is a very good chance they are going to ship me just the upper and lower so I can take possession prior to the end of June, and they will mail me my barrel when they are caught up. I admire RA for making sure I get my rifle before the ban, but just wanted to give folks an idea of current lead times. |

I'll give it to their barrel subcontractor: I've never had good AR chrome-lined barrels shoot this well. |

| I've been thinking on and off about XCR as the gun to experiment with various niche calibers like Grendel, Blackout, ARC etc. I wonder how the cost, reliability and parts availability, accuracy compare to other multi-caliber systems like LMT MRP or maybe WLVRN. |

My 5.56 MARS-L and XCR-L shoot very similarly. The XCR is the heavy profile, noticeably heavier than the LMT. Both shoot my 193 clone reloads 2.0-3.5 moa depending on the day, and they each have their own favorite factory ammo that will get to 1.0 moa. Both shot FGMM 69 gr at about 1.5 moa, LMT shot FGMM 77 gr at 1.0 consistently (best load), and the XCR at 1.25-1.50. The XCR shot Fiocci 69 gr at 1.0 pretty consistently (best load). Both are, to this point, bomb proof reliable at around 750 ish rounds. |

Honestly I keep coming back to a standard a2 grip on mine, I think the extra leverage of the angle just makes it so much more pleasant to hold up as they can get somewhat heavy once you pile everything on. Only got this small clip the last time I took it out. |

I have Ergo grips on two of my -Ls. The -M at 14.5 lbs. definitely needs a rigid grip. MOE, in my case, as the A2 is too slim for my hand. However, it's still a good grip. |

@Jkees Nice! What rail wrap is that? Had a group shoot and both mine and my brother's XCRs were a huge hit. His new (early s/n -L, updated with a new barrel and Type 3 bolt) SBR required no adjustment whatsoever to get zeroed at 25m with a mechanically-centered Eotech. All of ours are consistent sub-MOA shooters. The bolt release and charging handle seem to be more intuitive for new shooters to manipulate, though nothing about an AR is complicated. I'm always thankful when it comes to cleaning time: about half the time to clean compared to my (piston) AR, and I can pull the barrel for a deep clean and not have to re-zero. |

Its a grovtec rail wrap. Picked it up on a whim because I dont like how rail covers work on an xcr, and so far I love it |

I have the Lunar Concepts Hot Pocket on my SPR, which is fantastic. Looks like the Grovtec wraps up the sides a little further, making it more suitable to rifles that aren't AR. |

There seems to be more standoff distance between the barrel and handguard on the XCR, but I think at least one of the Grovtec covers is in my future. |
