As it's a pistol I assume it's the upper receiver/not the stock that is serialized yes?

I had been kicking around the idea of sbr'ing one but wasn't sure the process.

Just SBR a takedown rifle and then put a Charger barrel on.

There is an adapter to add a shoulder stock to the factory Charger stock, that would be a great economical option, and let you build it over time.  I have a takedown and have thought about SBRing it, but if you go to a really short barrel, the takedown function doesn't add much to the gun, just complexity and cost.  Personally, I'd rather SBR a regular Charger and put it in a nice chassis with a folder, and maybe upgrade or cut back the barrel to be real short later on.

Thats what I did. You can also have barrel engraved with your form1 information. I did it just below the stupid warning on the barrel that ruger puts on all their barrels.
Cheaper and easier to send off to engraver as well.
This way if you ever decide to sell it, you can put the original TD barrel back on and the receiver doesn't have your form1 engraving information on it.

I have a few SBR'd Chargers and a takedown Charger. Can always change back to a regular pistol or rifle that way. Also with braces being legal it is easy to play around with them and find out what you like.

Post above recommending engraving the barrel for SBR is no longer acceptable to do. Have to engrave the receiver now.

When did the AFTards make that change? I can't find anywhere it says that. Can you show me where it states this?

I bought the adapter for my charger and SBR’d it. Great little pinker. I just wish we could have binary triggers in Florida

Changed it Aug 24, 2022. I'm not a lawyer or anything but that's what has been pointed out to me.

I SBR'd a Charger and put a Sparrow on it.  Most fun you can have with your pants on.

The serial # is on the receiver.

Just a note, buy the aluminum adapters, the 3d printed ones are too fragile. I broke one within a month just folding the stock.
