| Took my brand new 25-06 out for the first time to sight it in. Went to load the first round and it went straight to the bottom of the mag. I thought maybe it was just me imagining things and loaded a couple more. Nope, stupid magazine was already broke. Anyone else have an issue with their American rifle magazines? I sent Ruger an email so will see if they send me a new one or not. The reviews on their magazines are not very favorable. Might have to look for another alternative. |

No issues with my .308 and .270 but I fully expect them to break at some point, simply because it's mainly plastic. |

Mines a little glitchy (6.5) with the magpul 5 round mags. It won’t seat with 5 and the bolt closed, will with the bolt open and feeds fine. But if you slam that mag in even a little hard on an open bolt, It over inserts and is a pure bitch to get out. Ruger 3 round works fine. |

Ditto. No issues with my .270 over the last few deer seasons. It’s not exactly a robust design. But then again, it’s a range and deer gun. If you were buying it for hard use, you’d have bought something else. They’re awesome guns for the price. But there are going to be cost saving corners cut somewhere to get it to that price point. Personally, I’ll gladly treat it gently to get that sort of out of the box accuracy from a gun barrel sold that cheap. But, yes, OP, broken magazine out of the box needs to be corrected by Ruger pronto. |

| Hopefully, I'll hear back from Ruger soon. It is really mindboggling to me they would use such a cheap piece of plastic for a magazine. Granted it's not a $1000 gun but they should be able to find a more durable way to make a quality magazine. I have a Savage Axis that came with a junk magazine as well. It wouldn't feed all the rounds into the chamber. They did at least send me another mag that seems to work a little better. |

Did you have to modify your rifle to fit those mags? I'm guessing yours is a .308? |

I have several I use in an old Remmy 700 LA in ‘06 that I dropped into a MagPul Hunter chassis (with their magazine unit) just for that purpose. If I could find a 25” sporter-profile factory barrel in .25-06 to swap into that same 700:receiver, I do it in a nano-second. The mags and stock would all remain the same. I’ve always wanted a 25-06. |
