| Whats the best way to get into a SBS .Go the Shockwave route and attach a stock.What forms are needed now if any. |

Easier IMO to get your desired shotgun and either cut or buy a barrel. Depending on what gun orgs you may belong to, nothing is required. Otherwise a Form 1. |

Are you having a stroke or posting from your phone? I think he means join SAF, they're exempt from the engraving requirements. Figure out if you're in a mostly free state or a truly free one 1st, might still have to do a Form 1 for state law. |

The laws, if anyone cares, governing 12 gauge firearms are more complicated. Example: buy a shot gun plus a short barrel and you can go back and forth with a barrel swap. 12 gauge firearms aren’t legal everywhere and once you put a stock on a 12 gauge firearm (i.e. Shockwave, TAC-13/14) it can’t legally go back to being a 12 gauge firearm…ever. |

Let's see, I've bought a 11-87 Police with a 14" barrel on an ATF form 4. I've used an ATF form 1 to make an SBS out of my 870 and bought a 14" police take off barrel. I've filed an ATF Form 1 and taken a chop saw to my Stoeger Coach Gun, and I've also done a Form 1 for an H&R Topper which I sent out to be threaded after I chopped it. So you have all those options. The forms are pretty much the same, so neither one is easier. It all depends upon what gun you have and how good your skills are vs how good of a job you want done. |
