Nothing special.  Bought from the G&R group buy.  Trying to decide whether I want to go the SBR route or not.

Looks nice.  Did you cerakote the T-1/KAC mount?  You won't regret the SBR route...trust me.

Cheers

It's actually an R1 from the Midway $300 sale.  I was planning on buying a T1, but bought 2 R1s instead.  Besides, I don't have a NVD yet, and most of my other Aimpoints are NV capable.  The finish is Aevore camo paint, can't remember the color.  It turned out pretty crappy for some reason and is peeling off after very light use.  I painted an entire carbine a while ago and that turned out fine, so not sure what the problem is this time.  Maybe because the paint is old, or because it was really cold in my garage when I painted the R1.

I agree. I think the only half decent one is the branham tactical version.

Just put the Branham rail on today, I'm really happy with it so far.

My branham rail is most likely coming off when the Tango Down replacement rails become available.

I have the CQC length SCAR 16s with Elcan and it is heavier than I would like.  I also have the Branham rail which adds to the weight.  I plan on mitigating some of the weight when the Tango Down rails are available.

Cheers

The SCAR needs it to protect all that bare skinny barrel sticking out.  Without it, it just doesn't look right.

The BUIS on top are tan and not black like the rest that Ive seen and the side doesnt say ELCAN in white.  Its a Gen 2 model like mine (or copy of one) I was just trying to see if it was just a different variant?

Looks great.  Did you by chance buy the optic recently from a guy on Sturmgewher?  FWIW, there is a lot of color deviation in the dark earth elcans; I have also heard that the term "overrun" was synonymous with "rejected by QC for color hue".

Cheers

My Tan Gen II looks just like the issue ELCANs.  Maybe the GEN1s (like above) had the coloration issues?

Either way its an excellent sight.

You are actually mistaken in your generation numbers.  Gen I's had the magnification levers and attachment levers on the opposite sides which is the units that had problems down range.  Gen II's had two revisons including the unit you are commenting on and your own.

Cheers

There was a guy recently advertising on Sturm and he had 6 of them in dark earth, however he would not unseal any boxes to confirm what revision they were which is why I asked where LN got his.

Cheers.
