Looks sweet man.  How are you running the sling up front?

I run the front sling on a QD in the aft socket of the MI rail (starboard side of weapon).

Cheers

Thanks man.

Had the FDE SCAR 17 out yesterday. Tried some PPU 168gr BTHP Match ammo. First 3 rounds were in the same hole shooting from a bench at 100 yards. I think I will be purchasing some more of it.

Nice!!  How do you like shooting the shorter 17?  I'm 90% sure I'm getting my 17 SBR'd, but still haven't decided 100% yet.  My 16 SBR just got finished yesterday and I hope to pick it up tomorrow :))

To interject an almost identical setup. (sweet rifle ^
I also have a 13" 17 SBR, i like it better suppressed (SDN-6) or with the 16" with FSC brake. as they have less recoil.  The F/H has the tuning fork ring  (AAC Mount)  It is pretty sweet suppressed.  13" isnt bad, it feels good for the length for 308 to still be effective and very compact but the gun is still just fine with 16" and I would not sell my 16 to keep it just short (but I also sprung for the factory tool kit, talk stupid expensive).

Edit - damn that 16 makes me want a sbr 16

Took it to the range for the first time today and I love it.  I was worried about excessive blast and recoil but even when sighting in off the bench it didnt seem to push me around or give much more concussion than with the standard barrel.  The 3" isnt a lot but it handles a little better now, particularly with the can on.

I purchased the black SCAR17 last year and mounted a Nightforce NXS 3.5-15x50 (MOAR) with an Aadland 20moa mount. While it was a great shooting rifle, I wanted something a little lighter. Just recently I purchased an FDE SCAR17 and mounted a Vortex Razor HD GenII 1-6x24 (VMR-2 MRAD) with an Aadland 20moa mount. A bit lighter but the Vortex Razor does have some weight to it. The padded Vickers sling helps distribute the weight and the FDE balances well. At some point I want to see for myself which is more accurate. I'll post the results.

The PS90 on the right is now a suppressed SBR. Just installed a super scar trigger on the FDE...havent shot it yet though.  I also added an FNX 45 with a black slide and FDE body.

I am debating on turning the FDE 17 into an SBR and putting my eotech/magnifier combo on it.......Thoughts? Oh ya, suppressors in jail for the 17 and FNX Tactical.

Very nice.

I had a Specter DR for my Block II clone, so I know the quality and capability, but I'm debating on what optic to get for my SCAR 17 - part me wants to get the Specter DR again, but another part of me knows this rifle is capable beyond 500 yards and would like to get some high powered glass like a Nightforce or Leupold...

Working on getting the policy changed so I can carry the 45 Fnx, but for now only glocks. I could carry a Scar 16, but can't justify the purchase and another SBR as I already have a duty rifle. A few swat guys were running the P90, PS90, as well as the fiveseven handgun, but have since switched to a standard M4 platform to be more "uniform".

You'll save money buying online - by far.

Anytime I've seen a SCAR in a local gun shop, they're always anywhere from $100-$500 more expensive than they are online.

Just my experience anyway.

I found a scar 17 in a local gun shop, they took on a trade, brand new, got it for 2500.  I'm not sure what they are running now, but at that time, that was the least expensive one I had seen.  I got a 16 from a LGS as well for 2.
