My 556-ER...I strive for simplicity, haha.

I'm noticing a lot of Sigs in this thread still have an awful lot of coating around the ejection port...get out there and shoot 'em more, that's what they're meant for, haha!

I can finally post in this thread!

556R - just picked it up  this weekend; I went and put a few boxes of Winchester Q3174 through it - since everywhere I checked locally is out of cheap Ruskie ammo (this is my first 7.62x39.) I guess I'm going to have to break out the plastic & order up some mil-surp online now.

No optic for this one yet.  It looks kinda weird, but it's just got a lot of break free on it.  Just cleaned it.

Arrendo Arms mag button for the AR- was playing around with it, and it is alright but there is room for improvement.  The Arrendo will not let the stock latch in the folded position.

I have a design optimized for the SIG 556 in the works, will be the follow on to the Scorpion Grip.

The Knights Armament enlarged mag release that comes with their drop-in AR15 ambi mag release is a great addition to the 556 lower.

What the 556 lower still needs:
- An adapter to allow the use of AR15 grips (ie Magpul MIAD)
- Ambi mag release

Building the 556 collection back up.  Picked up a 2009 NIB classic the other day.  I swapped a P556 lower onto it and then added a Magpul stock and tube.  Now my green P556 has a classic lower.  Then a lightly used 2009 era Classic showed up with a green 55X stock.  I had a 550 hand guard and DDLES hand guard ring waiting on it.  I think I'm set on 556s for a while...

made a few changes to the 556 and 522. Ditched the Eotech's for 1-4x scopes and added the MFI BUIS for the 556. I think Santa is going to bring me a swiss stock for the 556.

The Burris LRS itself weighs in at 17oz. and the mount is probably at least another 5 to 7 oz.  I had a similar configuration for a while using a Trijicon TR24G and trimmed quite a bit of weight going back to an Aimpoint Red dot. I guess it just depends on what you are using the rifle for ey!  This configuration of yours looks like it may weigh a fair piece with that flashlight and bipod on the front.

I do not like them
in a house.
I do not like them
with a mouse.
I do not like them
here or there.
I do not like them
anywhere.
I do not like Sig Sauer diopter sights.
I do not like them, Sam-I-am.

I don't like them at all. I prefer the popsicle rear sight much better. I couldn't get used to the V notch sight and the 100m peep blocked out too much periphial view and impossible to use with an optic.

After years of being on the fence for a Sig 556, I finally got one. Had wanted to go with the new 551 style but I got this new for $925 with the Swiss style stock. Handguards were a little loose, so I tightened them up by adding a plastic zip tie aroud them inside the front cap and they are perfect now. Also added a more aggressive flash suppressor. And I really like the look of the Lancer translucent magazines with this rifle.

Congrats on getting off the fence. You've made a great decision on a fantastic rifle!

Nice choice in the Patrol model. It's not so front heavy and offers the same reliability you expect from the 556 platform.

I REALLY need to get some lower profile rail covers, probably LaRue Index Clips, to replace the XTMs.  On a slimmer AR rail, XTMs are no problem.  On something with as much beef as my 556, I feel like I'm grabbing a 2x4.

Thanks!  It started out with the folding CTR and (sub)standard flip ups that came on the first runs of 556s.  I swapped out the front sight with the Samson flip up, right now I've got a LaRue BUIS on the back, and I installed a Griffon charging handle.  It lasted that way for a bit before I changed the stock for the UBR.  Most recent things swapped out were the trigger guard, and the flash hider.

Oh, and since I get it asked a lot, I didn't get it refinished, there was a distributor special edition that were done up FDE at the factory.

This was actually the first long gun I ever bought.
