Alpha glass, light compact package, daylight bright dot, excellent reticle in the 1st plane, fantastic turrets. It really does it all. The only complaint would be that the depth of field is a bit shallow so the adjustable parallax is important when jumping from 200 yards to 600 yards but with the adjustable parallax you can dial it to be crystal clear on those longer shots. I have or had ZCO, NF, Minox ZP5 and a March HM and I would buy the 1-10 DR again if I wanted another LPVO. I'm looking at the new March 1.5-15 Dual reticle that was just announced. Looks like it was built just for SR25's. |

Finally got my approved Form 4.  Sad to lose the MAMS, but I got lucky enough to find a NOS SF3P-SR25, which is quieter than the SFMB due to the labyrinth seals/grooves. Need to decide if I swap the STR for an ACS, or go back to an LMT stock with some weights to help balance the rifle a bit better when the can is attached. I maybe I need to just go lift weights. . . . |

When I worked at KAC many moons ago, the upper and lower receivers for Mk11s were match-drilled and reamed (for the takedown and pivot pins) as an assembly. The markings were done to insure they stayed / could be re-married throughout the rest of the finishing and assembly processes. Hope this helps! |

It would make sense that these receivers were drilled together because the pins slide in like butter. Other Match rifles I've messed with are all over the map, as far as fit. Some are pretty standard, and some pins need a punch to knock out. I emailed KAC about the serial number and they said it was manufactured in December 1993 and sold in October 1998. Seems weird to me, and I can only assume the lower sat in a bin for 5 years until they mated it with an upper. The upper has more "modern" features like the laser engraved serial number and "7.62MM" on the left side, but still lacks the brass deflector. I still have more unanswered questions than answered, but at least I have some information. |

It had the flag carrier with it and Kac style gas buster charging handle. It’s a long story but the short version is on the Kac FB group a guy posted a picture of a ECC with the early 3.1 rail and a guy pointed it out in the post. The OP replied back he knew where one more early 3.1 rail was at. I messaged the OP and asked about it. He referred me to Ayan George and I emailed him. Ayan still had it and needless to say I didn’t mess around and bought it from him. Doesn’t matter but Ayan told me the early 3.1 rail I just bought belonged to Jack L. So that’s kinda cool. Shortly after I got a like new but used ECC upper and had two uppers for the rails I had (URX3/Early URX3.1) Already had a new SR25 lower but picked up another that was used. I made the tools needed for the rail swaps. A barrel wrench and brass punches for the taper pins. The punches have dimpled ends so they fit on the taper pins perfect and the barrel nut wrench uses a aluminum insert that screws on the end of the barrel. So it’s supported on one end in the nut, and on the other end by the aluminum insert. Stays true to the centerline of the barrel when torquing down or loosing. Like it better then the factory design wrench. I didn’t have a coated rifle in my collection so decided to coat the ECC with the early 3.1 rail. Kinda like a K1 but not clone correct because it has a mams, controls aren’t coated along with the barrel. But it’s what I wanted. That upper and lower were completely stripped bare when I sent out the parts for Cerakote. The upper with the URX3 just had a rail swap so pretty simple there. Had fun with them both and was lucky to find both of those rails. Not something I would want to try and find again. And now my attention turns to the Lunchbox rifle. My advice, build out an upper with SR25 Cartel/HTX parts and leave the EC upper as is. The only hard to find part will be the handguard... ECs are worth some coin. |
